    No.

    The only operator that did this (OVIVO) went bust.
    This sounds like they went bust because they offered an "open-ended" bundle. Generally, there is no anything wrong with open-ended bundles if they aren't free.

    In fact they offered a new free bundle every month - and went bust because of this.

    You have a tendency to over-complicate matters and in general you get it badly wrong.
    Remember telling me this? Well, the OP not only emphasized what he wanted in bold, he even underlined exactly what he didn't want;

    . But at this stage I have one question: does any provider offer a SIM, or a "package" with a set allowance of minutes, texts and data which is not time-limited?
    but even that didn't stop you over-complicating matters by posting this irrelevancy:
    To this you can add a package for as little £1 per week(25 mins & 50 SMS).You can stop and start the £1 package at will.
    which you also got badly wrong; you cannot stop a £1 pack at will. You can start one whenever you like, but it's time-limited, which you seem to agree with here...
    Packs end after seven days if you purchase a seven day pack.
    It's appears that no matter how often things are explained, some just don't seem to get it.
    Now, I wonder why some just won't seem to get it? :think:

    I would say that all sim only and PAYG are time-limited in some way

    For PAYG, if you mean a chargeable call/text that is required every 6 months or so, then Giffgaff PAYG isn't time-limited in any way.

    I thought their Goody Bags or whatever they're called were; if you just mean monetary credit then surely all providers are like GG.

    SIM cards are deactivated if they are not used for 6 months. If you want to prevent deactivation, make sure you use your phone from time to time.

    No, unlike giffgaff, all other providers require either a topup or a chargeable outgoing call/text.

    13.3. Your SIM Card will be disconnected unless, at least once every six months, your Account is used to:
    • a) make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (not including calls to emergency services or Member Services);
    • b) make at least one connection to the Internet;
    • c) make at least 4 received calls of more than 10 seconds;
    • d) make at least one airtime credit or Bundle purchase; ...
    So, if someone keeps calling you, your credit remains untouched and isn't time-limited in any way.
