I can understand why people don't want to drink cow's milk. I'm lactose intolerant myself, so I don't drink it.

What I can't get my head round at all is why people who don't drink cow's milk feel they have to buy a milk substitute. Why? Just do without milk. Full stop. If you want to drink something thirst quenching, drink water.

I'll remember that when I put water on my cornflakes.

    that is their problem surely?

It's okay being a smarty pants but many people don't check in detail, and the marketing strategy makes it difficult when you have to work out in your head grams per ratio.

Hang on a second it can be spelt both ways!

Perhaps, but it depends on whose side you're on - the consumer (which is what this site is all about surely), or the sneaky retailers.

I didn't realise we had to take 'sides' - didn't we stop doing that when we left the playground?

Make porridge with water instead. Or make toast. Or scrambled eggs. Or a full English.........

But what if I like cornflakes.

Anyhow, I have a friend who puts fruit juices on her cereal as she doesn't like milk. I don't like it too much, so I often eat cereal dry.

So your education was deficient in the "learned"/"learnt" area.

(I think it is an English English thing. So American spellcheckers would side with you.)

You weren't ripped off you just didn't check where the cheapest place is to buy the item.
