Not only that the smaller stores have their own pack sizes, the mushrooms are in a slightly smaller pack and yet are a same price as the bigger packs in the extra stores, only by 25g or so but still its less product for the price.0 -
Why is this the second time in 3 days you've started a thread about exactly the same thing?
Reduced prices/special offer scam at Sainsburys
It's not a scam either by the way. Obviously it hadn't been selling as they expected so they've had to reduce the price to get it to sell. That does not meet the definition of the word scam whatsoever at all.0 -
I couldn't find the other thread and I thought it had been deleted.0

Also,I thought I was posting in the 'shopping' thread and I'm not sure whether I posted this in some sort of 'consumer rights' part of the forum,in which case I it would be a bit out of context, anyway, thanks for those of you who made constructive comments, maybe it is not a 'marketing ploy' after all.0

All the supermarkets use odd pricing tactics. Look at single items at one size and price and then at the larger items and often it's cheaper to buy the smaller size. These tactics are sneaking but perfectly legal and treat us punters as fools.0

Are you sure about that?
I thought the internet had levelled the prices. If Tesco have an online price of £2 for a four tin pack of baked beans, that is the price you pay in any Tesco shop from Aberdeen to Brighton, from mini to mega size etc.
I regularly use 3 different Tesco within a 45 mile radius, and the prices vary from shop to shopWWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0 -

My junior school maths learnt over 30 years ago however has managed me to figure out which was the best to buy in this sort of case.0 -

Although it didn't teach you how to spell learned.
It's okay being a smarty pants but many people don't check in detail, and the marketing strategy makes it difficult when you have to work out in your head grams per ratio.0 -
I can understand why people don't want to drink cow's milk. I'm lactose intolerant myself, so I don't drink it.
What I can't get my head round at all is why people who don't drink cow's milk feel they have to buy a milk substitute. Why? Just do without milk. Full stop.
