Received a letter from Jet2 today regarding a nine hour flight delay involving two aircraft. We were travelling from Murcia to Manchester. The first plane was grounded due to a technical fault. After a 3 hr. delay the 2nd.plane arrived but had to land at Alicante due to a technical fault. We had to wait in the plane, on the runway until the final plane arrived to take us home to Manchester. In the letter Jet2 claim that the fault was a" hidden
manufacturing fault" and therefore they don't have to pay compensation because it was an "extraordinary circumstance"
What are the possibilities of two planes having the same problem?

In response to question - highly unlikely. But Jet2 will fight you all the way to court and beyond, if possible.
