Told them what I thought of that but was getting nowhere and still on a decent deal so decided it was not worth the hassle and I had no proof.
So now as fc mentioned we get everyone to email us the quote/deal etc

Subject access request they have to provide you with any recorded calls they have had with you. If they claim they haven't kept them it's fair enough to ask them for their destruction policy on them. It might also cost you £10. Probably only worth it if you are talking a reasonable sum of money.
On the other hand, it's ALOT of hassle for them and rather than trawl through phone records they might just cave in.......
