So sorry to hear your news snap ant. Was reading through for an update before replying. Prayers are with you all.

    In other news

    So our Banana split!
Was obviously making you so unhappy and you sounded so loyal and understanding of the family firms problems and grief. No excuse for them pushing you too hard when reduced hours were agreed for college.

FC did ds2 re gift your face cream to Henry:eek:

Sorry sure there were other posts but was reading to see how fourp mum was.

My Christmas day which had been so lovingly planned went to pot.
Poor dgd barely slept last night due to back teeth coming through. She did get the knack of opening presents this year though.
Just as dinner was being served sil noticed the oven wouldn't turn off. Ruined dinner as he was panicking about it. Dgd was tired so put her to bed and dd and I visited dad and collected sil present I had left at my sisters. (Up date on dad in a mo).
Finally got back to find sil stressing as dgd had been coughing in her sleep and done a wee so he had bathed her. He still refused to let me disconnect the cooker. Told dd they were not taking dgd to disney on ice tomorrow due to her cough and the gas situation. Made dd cry. Still no presents opened as we do the main ones after dinner. After much tense discussion he phones his dad to come over re cooker. His mum then phones her sil to go and supervise the pair of them.
Pete simply disconnected gas as I wanted to. This fiasco took 4 hours.

Dgd wanted to open presents so we ended up opening some while operation gas was still going on:mad: dd was shocked by her handbag (Michael kors black friday). Sil disinterested by his hudl as still unnecessarily stressed so went to sisters to drop something off. Saw ds2 for 10 mind while we chatted in his car and exchanged gifts then came back to hotel.

Did not dare tell dd that I have decided every other Xmas I am going away from now on but she is working next year.

Christmas is about who you spend it with not the presents but I get great joy from giving and that was spoilt. Dgd really didn't want Xmas today as was quite unwell.

Visited dad around 3 and took plate of his favourite bits of Christmas dinner. Careworker promised to heat it up for his tea. Sister had visited around 10 am and my boys about midday. He had not got any Christmas spirit then but boys took him diabetic chocs and he had opened them by time we arrived. Nice to think he fancied on. He was pleased with his shower gel and body spray as can use spray to freshen room. Nice 15 minute visit and lovely smile.

DD text me tonight and said she is thrilled with bag as was definately not expecting one and her DH was playing on hudl so calm household again.

Stupidly and selfishly I feel I have been cheated out of a Christmas day I didn't expect to have. So strange as I am not like that at all and I spent more time in car than anyone's house today.
I am ashamed to feel this way.

Definitely going away next year and although not mse to book this early I think will do in next few days. It's something I said I would do before dgks came along but things didn't work out like that.
I have definitely spent too much time up here this week but went up early due to dad being in hospital with very bad prognosis. I have felt displaced all week which has made me lose and find so many things it has driven me barmy.
home tomorrow then up to see Dad new years day if not before.

Sorry for long post. Some of you will understand some will not but I needed to post my mood.

Very glad so many of the Elite have had fantastic days with family and friends. Never take it for granted.

    V x

I love the way you put things VT. I'm glad although you clearly run about nose to tail that you actually did that. That you are willing to give all of yourself to your family.

I think you are rather wonderful :A

No sales for me. Can't abide busy shops unless it's a necessity. Instead I'm going half way to Scotland to meet a friend for lunch. Neither of us has time for a proper visit this year :( so that's the next best thing.
I hope those who do brave the shops find lots of bargains

Cod are amazing. I doubt anybody would eat it if they knew enough. It's in the freakiest food chain ever- it eats an animal that lives off baby cod, so if you catch too many cod, the animals multiply like mad and eat all the baby cod.

Makes it one of the most fragile sea creatures ever. Grew up eating haddock instead, but somewhere between Glasgow and London, the standard fish seems to switch from haddock to cod. As sustainable food goes, might as well eat pandas. :(

    Merry Xmas by the way.

Never knew that Zag. We never ate/eat cod up here either all our chippies serve haddock.

Hope you had lovely day xx

Hello lovely lady. Enjoy your visit. I'm hoping to head south in February/march too. We did Carlisle last time but much prefer Lancaster.

I'm only getting dressed today as little miss has to go to work. And apparently pink Goonies frowned upon in town ! :rotfl:
