Morning Lovelies,
VT I think your idea of going away is great. Our best Christmases have been spent abroad. My favourite was Goa, where Xmas lasted 3 days. We were swimming in the sea on Xmas morning listening to the sound of carols drifting down from the church on the headland. None of the commercialism of Xmas here.
These days I try not to build up my hopes and expectations, so this year I was pleasantly surprised! Despite being really poorly! Shared the cooking of Xmas dinner between 3 families. Watched Santa going home (ISS),before dinner, and before pudding! The neighbours must have thought we were bonkers! Hope I behaved well, cold remedy and champagne could be a recipe for disaster.
Irritating phone call with Mother. Involved her saying she couldn't hear me for most of the call except for the bit where I asked her what she wanted to do when we go up today. (Mother and her weird behaviours are the main reasons why Xmases have gone wrong over the years, so we see her on Boxing Day to limit my disappointment). So, we will be driving 90 miles to go to Nandos and then sales shopping. (This is what we do every time we visit!). She can't walk very far, complains all the time, and everyone else leaves me with her, while they go off and look in interesting shops!
We have booked in to a hotel with a pool tonight, (Lastminute.com - same price as the Travelodge!), and will be visiting Cheshire Oaks tomorrow. This will be our reward.
Wishing everyone a Happy Boxing Day! HE x0 -
Morning all
Woke up at 4.40am and couldn't get back to sleep  Used the time to go to the Next sale which wasn't half as bad as I expected. Got loads of clothes for just over £100 (lots will go back I'm sure!) then hit Boots and got a gift set for auntie for next Christmas and some wrapping paper for free (paid with points)
While waiting for M&S to open I got a tea from Costa (free with points on my card) and then spent £12 in M&S thanks to getting a £40 gift card for Christmas. I imagine some of the things I got will go back but I got some lovely buys!
I'm still not too sleepy, so I'm having some toast then off to town for the Paperchase sale. That'll be where I go awry I'm sure. I love their stuff and have my eye on their sprouts wrapping paper :rotfl::rotfl:
Hope everyone had a lovely day and thoughts to those dealing with illness.0 -
Good morning everyone. Happy Boxing Day. Hope you all have a wonderful day yesterday. I intended going to the sales this morning but still in PJs and not sure if I can be bothered. Only want some crackers for next year, my family cards and a couple of cheap christmas puddings so not sure if it is worth it.0

♥ Thanks Llovelies.
I'm back from a 100 miles round trip to Cardiff - dropped Fourp off.
His Mum has had a bleed on the brain, not a stroke as first thought.
She has been moved to the The Heath & has had scans, awaiting op.
Fingers crossed as it is touch & go
Luckily his brother was there when she collapsed & called an ambulance
I feel guilty as Fourp came back here for Christmas - he spent this morning cooking the complete dinner, wouldn't let us help, he only just sat down when the phone call came:(
Hope his mum is ok Snap (((X)))0 -
Good morning:santa2:
Had a lovely day yesterday, no one moaning over what they didn't get and very appreciative of what they did receive(proud mummy) living room looked and still looks like someone has ransacked toysrus...
I cooked dinner aided by my assistant mr monkey all was ready on time for a change... However I forgot the parsnips:(
We played the no showing teeth game.( like Keith Lemon but a child friendly version) .. Hilarious
Then played with various toys... Bobbed outside to see Santas return journey but the cloud was too thick and we couldnt see it.
I'm off into town to see if there's anything left in next... I'm usually in the queue at 5am but had a good VIP slot... Thing is some things are due February so I'm going to look for them instore... Fingers crossed
Just waiting for mr monkey to get up....
Have a lovely day...:santa2:
