It is good to hear that it can be a success, thanks Sarah xSarahdol75 wrote: »
My friend home schools her son, and he is doing brilliantly, they took him out through bullying, and the school did nothing about it. He would now be in his last year and is expected to achieve very good results.
Thanks, the tools are what we are struggling to find but I know they are out there. Support groups are all over the place but I never knew as never had any reason to look. Hopefully by New Year we will be more organised.Deleted_User wrote: »I applaud your decision :T
Who is the most invested person in your daughters education, you. So you are likely to be the best person to educate her with the right tools and support. Because you want to see her succeed more than her teachers do.
We all feel so much happier even though we are not sure about a lot of things that are to come at least I know she is safe and happy. Sorry to make you cry, you must be a big softie like meAww that's excellent news Strewth. Big well done to you for taking these steps, I'm sure it will work out great. Bless her she must be so relieved, you all must be now you have taken the decision. I wouldn't hesitate to do the same in your situation. Good luck with it all
xx
Ps the middle paragraph made me cry xx
Thanks Locarr, I think she will do so much better without the worries of the world on her little shouldersWell done Strewth and may your DD prosper at home!!:):T:T
One of the school staff is being amazing, she is bringing a few bits to get us started as she knew dd before she started at the school and knows what a bad time she's had. I've also informed the LEA and will be open and honest with them as I know there are safeguarding issues with children that are taken out of the school system. We had a cookery lesson yesterday and she more or less made our Christmas cake by herself :T We just had fun but I think she learnt as much as she would have in the school cookery lessons.Mumto2monkeys wrote: »Strewth71
You've made a very big decision which I know as a mum who wants the very best for her children you won't have taken lightly. You know your child better than anyone and if you can see a difference already then you know it was the right decision for her.
All I would say is that you leave the lines of communication with the LEA /school open, they may be a valuable resource further along the line.
Good luck and have fun learning together:)
Lovely to hear marrbett :T When I mention it to anyone they look at me like I'm mad. I may well message you at some point for a couple of pointers. I do feel like I have taken my daughter back and will enjoy her company now that we can spend more time togetherwelcome to our world- we home ed our remaining 3 and its been a real joy! Its very main stream now.
Give your Dd time to 'de-school' for a while. Enjoy life with her for a bit.
Let me know if you need any help.xx
