Good Afternoon:xmassmileI was just about to write a very similar post to this;)so have quoted yours hope you don't mind;)
hope everyone is gradually getting their chores and shopping done.
Don't you just love it when you arrive home to a card from the post office to say you need to collect but have money to pay to collect a letter as insufficient stamps....and I just know who the cheap skate who sent it will be:eek::eek:now do I collect or not ;)

Wellllll Nannylala that's what happened to me regarding my cheque for the hob £89. Came in the other day and a card was pushed through the door saying £2.63 to pay . It was sent recorded delivery for us to sign for it but no flaming stamp lol.

I had an idea it was this cheque so went the next day which is a fag in itself as nowhere near to park and big queue s with postmen who haven t a clue where anything is. I thought I ll pay for it and hope I was right. Luckily I was and the cheque was banked about an hour later lol.

Anyway I emailed the woman who I spoke to to thank her for the cheque etc and jokingly mentioned the lack of postage and wishing her Merry Christmas etc and she emailed me back and was very apologetic and said their franking machine must have missed it. May or may not be true I don't know. I was just glad to receive the cheque though.

    If it was a Christmas card I don't think I d bother.:)

I'm not going to tell him that now as he's already got the hump having saw bits of the sides of the trunk for it to fit in the stand :o hopefully it will take water in from the sides :rotfl:

I'm laughing at this as after years of the air turning blue as Mr lutzi attempted to put the tree in the stand (the only time he usually swears, it's a Christmas tradition :D), we actually remembered to do a trunk inspection this year when choosing our tree. :rotfl:
    Hope is not a strategy.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: told you we'd get there eventually ;)anyone know if m&s are doing the £5 off voucher leaflet for different weeks in January this year?
Also what's best to get with the T's dairy 2 vouchers? Can you use on self service for lurpak cooking stuff with the 75p vouchers? Thanks :)

If it is the £3 off £12 ones, I got family size Philly and a nice PP with the receipt, thanks to whoever it was who first mentioned this the other day x

Lidl's Queen Margot is just as good as Bailey's IMO, I brought some back from Portugal. I always add an extra splash of whisky to either just for a bit of extra sparkle. Nice poured over ice too. :)

    Thank you Lutzi1

TM, your timing is getting worse, I have just been in M&S, cant believe you could not have posted half an hour earlier, how rude!

I'm feeling very soppy and just wanted to say to all of the Elite how much I have missed being active in the thread this past year. but health, blah, family, blah we all know how it goes.
For years I have dreaded Christmas time (too many memories) and struggle to get motivated. But last year I was on such an UP and I really believe that being more active in the thread was a large part of my "feel good factor". This year I've had the old sense of apathy creep over me, but over the last week trying to get back here more it has really started to lift.
So thank you all, and in the immortal word of Tiny Tim "God bless Us, Every One"
