Sorry to hear your news saving babs. Hope you get sorted for Christmas xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.
  • Good afternoon everyone

Sending lots of hugs to Savingbabs

Thank you all for my birthday wishes yesterday, it really cheered me up, the day started off bad, got a small box of roses and a very sentimental card of oh, he’s never sentimental, on the front of the card says “To my wife (we are not married) the only one that really knows me, on the inside it says thank you for loving me”, oh always goes on a bit of a downer this time of year but these past two weeks has been pretty bad, so I thought it was going to be a bit of a rough day, we arranged to go out for a late lunch/early tea and a quick drink, oh said he did not want to get caught up with the mad Friday crowd.
We went to the club, got our first pint and he dropped down on one knee, I thought he had slipped, so I tried to pick him up, he starts growling at me to sit down and said he is trying to propose, I was in total shock, still am, it certainly was not the most romantic proposal but after 15 ½ years he finally asked me to marry him yiphee:j:j:j:j , then all our mates turned up and we had a party, what started out bad turned into a fantastic birthday. We are both feeling pretty rough today
He said choosing and buying the ring was the most stressful thing he has ever done, problems galore he said and the reason he has been so bad lately is the fact he had to carry the ring around with him so I would not find it and that keeping it all a secret was very hard for him. It also explains his birthday card.
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to share our good news, here is a photo of my ring, it is not a traditional engagement ring because I cannot wear stones that stick out, I can only wear in set stone rings, hope it does not stretch it into next door

What a lovely post, congratulations to you both. :j
We're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits. :)

How many people will have had the same idea ... Go in early to avoid the crowds, thus busy earlier and quieter late :).

Nope, likely to be a crazy day shopping with people buying food as though the world is going to end . Perspective people - most shops are closed for one day only.

My Ts was fuller than usual for 8.30am, but I was able to find a parking in the first row I drove down, and still plenty of spaces to be had. However, when I came out an hour and a half later (had some MOCs that are due to expire that I wanted to use up) there were people in hi vis vests spotting and guiding people to any free parking spaces.

Thankfully I have a home delivery from A for my groceries next week, so won't have to battle the crowds to get my Christmas bits in :D

Collected the denbys safely. Was expecting them to be really heavy following feedback from here on how heavy the boxes are, but I was able to easily carry two boxes at one time without breaking a sweat ;)
