I've just bought some limes in A... 35p each (a few weeks ago they were 25p!). Comparing to 30p in T but even so.. how can they go up 40%??!!!!
No thanks, I have a stockpile of the 4+4 at £1 each, desperately been trying (and so far succeeded) in stopping people going over into the second pack on - even using more than half of the first pack like they did was too much for me:(, they have to last until May. No more. Okay, no more! I almost have to lock things away - you know what other people are like...
That does happen quite often, on individual items and sort of renders measures of inflation useless. I've seen things more than doubling - a pouch of chocolates that went up from 50p to £2.20:eek:, the Ginger one day being £2.69/kg and the next £3.49/kg, items yo-yoing up and down, seemingly within days and then back again, and always less than two weeks, one day one price and then suddenly, obviously the raw ingredients now cost so much more to manufacture and the product is suddenly "worth" twice the price! The Maltesers Funsize £1 for a day or two, then £1.50 or £2.79 (whichever store's SEL was to be believed), then a week later £2.79:eek: and put on an "offer" (that really doesn't amount to one) of 2 for £5.00:eek: (£2.50 each, £1.50 each more expensive than the very brief £1 price).
Some of the "offers" that you see, like this last one, are so poor IMO that they don't even come within the meaning of the word "offer" - or else produce an immediate rejection by me of said offer.0 -

Evening elite, spent last night and this morning making 72 cupcakes for various people. Went to deliver 36 for a charity event and on the way had to sharply brake as some eejit tried to overtake the car in front and ending up smashing into them. Luckily I left plenty of space in front me and avoided smashing into them, but in the process one of the boxes went flying smashing 12 of the cakes. Ended up getting delayed by 90 minutes so when I arrived it turned out I'd missed the event entirely, due in part by being given the wrong time to get there. I was a bit  at wasting time, but then thought 'it could be worse, at least I didn't smash up my car today'

Afternoon all
So raging we don't have Wait's here in NI so can't take part in the best choc glitch so far
Is there any decent comparisons on chocs to be had in Ts or Sains that anyone can think of?0 -
Right, I've now somehow summoned up enough wherewithal to amend the M list, and I've somehow missed noticing whether the Turkey Tray was still £1 or not. I suspect it is - but who cares anyway? If it's not and it's more expensive, you'll choose not to buy it and, if it is £1, you'll make your own decision as to whether that is still too dear - I'm leaving it on the list and if it's there in M, it's there. If not, then not.0
