Good Afternoon all
Well I m pleased to say I safely banked my cheque for the full cost of my hob today
... And also thanks to op s and testers I bought two Thorntons boxes and a Dairy Milk as the trigger with fillers and paid £11.07 and got a voucher back for £7.710 -
Its great isnt it! I posted about this ages ago when I discovered the same when our catch went. I thought it was the clip, so was happy when they sent the £2 part, when that didnt solve it I submitted another request and got a shiny new lid too. Free postage as well. So whilst you pay extra for the bin, it will last and last and when it does break, free parts!!
oh i never saw that (but i have been Skippy von skipper the past few months:D).
High five to lifelong bins:rotfl:

Little has changed in M today. A few additional items to put onto the list when I can be bothered to do so, that may have been there on Monday and I hadn't immediately picked them up:o, or may indeed have only just gone to those prices, or my money is on the offers being on on Monday but no M stores displaying any information about them until today:rotfl:.
I didn't find the Vacuum Packed Beef today, and the other beef (the Butcher's Topside Joint) is still at £9.99/kg:eek:, so maybe that will have implications, or maybe not, for the correct version of "bubb's beef". Savers Cheese & Onion Pasty has disappeared on me, so the S/P equivalent is going to be removed.
A few good jokes in my M today, to be found in the "reduced" to clear section! They made me laugh anyway. Sort of the not "reduced" nearly enough and now still way more expensive than the very frequent offer price: Fanta Orange 1L, was £1.45, now £1.39:eek::eek::rotfl:. That's right - reduced to clear, probably becoming short-dated and still pay 39p more than the usual £1 offer pricing. (Of course, should wait until they are free elsewhere.)
Some Kit Kat Chunky 8 pack bars and well over twice the cost of offer pricing on other bars - in this case the 4 + 4 extra free that are identical to me except the labelling is different. Pay £1.25 more for different labelling!:rotfl: That's right - 4+4 free is £1 offer price earlier in the year - the 8 pack I found in M says it was £2.39, now £2.25:eek::eek:_pale_.
The Mars Funsize (been at £1 in Sains.) is another good joke. Reduced to clear in M - was £2.79:eek::eek:, now £2.25!_pale_
I can bet there are ordinary people who do hold the opinion that, if something is on the reduced to clear shelf, it must be good value. You can bet there are people that simply assume this to be the case. Many people have crazy opinions. It is therefore, in my view, an extremely effective way of selling stuff for way too expensive prices, the store profits and the customer has paid over the odds, again, just put it on a 'reduced to clear' shelf at whatever high price you want. Just a few pence off, it can be "reduced" to clear. Hence the "saving" of a mere 14p on the Kit Kat.
I did find a Large Flan Case at RTC 25p though - I might just stretch to that, or maybe that's too dear!:rotfl:
Now, wonder whether I rush out and try and get bubb's beef:D:rotfl:.0 -

A customer was talking to one of the staff about the E45 Moisturising Lotion today (yes, this is another "story from one of the stores"). They didn't seem to be complaining, instead just having an amiciable chat and they said they'd paid £7 for it a few weeks ago and it was now £3.50. The member of staff of all people:eek: said that they'd also bought it when it was £7 and had seen that it is now £3.50, and they seemed to just put this one down to "learn by experience for next time".
I have no idea why anyone would ever pay £7!:eek: It is just totally mystifying to me. The member of staff, who works there and should know better than most people what prices are lower prices. You know that prices are cyclical and that the vast majority of items will go, at some point, onto a half price offer so that anything less than that is too much. So why would anyone ever buy at £7, when there is no offer on such a product and that it isn't being bought because they know it is on half price elsewhere and that they are trying to compare to the competitor price? I knew the price of £7 was the expensive price, so that I would never have bought it at that price and I only considered it when it became £3.50. It's been on my list, and continues on it, at that price. There have been and still are other E45s on 'half price' in M, but this one has been chosen, me being pedantic, as it is the one with the lowest price per unit, although it is one of the higher straight price:eek: but that it's cheaper on price per unit;). (Still too expensive I'm sure for many here:rotfl::rotfl:.)
Then again... about people that may work there, I saw a womble recently (sadly a discount card was used:() where they bought the 1Kg Clover at £3.70 (less the discount), after it had gone up from £2!
It's just silly. Stupid and reckless on both occasions.0 -
