I throw most of my vouchers away and never use them. Mainly because they are for items that I never buy and would not buy just because of the voucher.

Hence the comment about 'vouchers' & 'coupons' - CC points every 3 months are converted into cash Vouchers - they can be used for just about anything from Tesco, coupons on the other hand are promotional ones for particular products that you may or may not like, they do not have any connection with past points.

However, rereading the OP's first post - INHO I think it more likely that this a case of using reprinted vouchers rather than fraud. I note, used in the same store - fraud cases usually 100+ miles away.
Tesco, especially in the November mailing send out 'Reprint Vouchers' they are not 'extra' vouchers - but reminders just in case the originals have been lost i.e. they have the same date and codes as the originals! This doesn't happen to those already registered on MCA.
Trouble is, many people do wonder 'why am I getting vouchers with different dates on' and checking their others - just put them all together and try and spend them.
Hence, the confusion - 'what do mean it's used, I've only just torn it off the perforation today'.
CC can see to the second when the vouchers are scanned - the successful one, and the later unsuccessful ones.

Hopefully, next time they'll be labelled more clearly what they are and what they represent.

jeordie Joe to be fair to No.1 Catman you do seem to be confusing the money off coupons with Clubcard vouchers which I believe the Op is talking about.

I have received before reprints of unused vouchers in the mailing, sometimes of hgh value which I think is not such a good idea due to the risk of them being stolen in the post.
  • I had over £200 pounds worth of vouchers stolen and spent on Tuesday...19.05.2015
I had received an email telling me my email address had been changed on Tesco.com.
Straight away i went onto Tesco's website and tried to log in and couldnt.
I immediately got onto the phone to them and was eventually able to gain access to my account again and they have said they will reinstate the stolen vouchers.
Once i came off the phone to Tesco i went for a browse around my account and was gutted at what i saw.
The thief's details were all there for me to see...including everything they had bought with the vouchers on Tesco Direct.
I have printed everything off to take this further.
They used my name as the delivery name but their own delivery address...in London.
    I am in Scotland.
I got back onto Tesco to tell them what i had saw and the person i spoke to said it would be dealt with but there was no elaboration.
She suggested i report it to action fraud.
I was offered a £10 voucher for my inconvenience.
I went to my local police who were not interested unless it involved actual money.
The person who gained access to my account took it over ....they were in my contact addresses and kept showing up as my email address.
If i could say the persons name and address here i would, to warn you all about this thief but no doubt i'd be in the wrong.
To make matters worse...i saw yesterday that all the stuff they ordered was actually delivered to them.
I told Tesco what was happening and i even gave them the order number so it could be stopped....but heyho, there you go. The thief got the lot.
I am sick to the stomach about this and i urge everybody to keep a close eye on their clubcard account...especially their personal details.

When you rang, did they give you the 'phone no for 'Action Fraud' - doubtful your local Police Station would have the knowledge to deal with it. By reporting it, it becomes a criminal enquiry. The person you spoke to - should have feed the details e.g. the wrong person's info - back to the support team, as well as crediting your points back - I always used to.
Hard to know with timing what scope there was to stop the delivery - which is a pity. Could you see if it was items that could be easily resold?

Fortunately, you had the email notification about the change - without that you may have been none the wise for some time, until mail arrives addressed to the wrong person!

Does your email address, relate to your IP provider i.e. BT, Virgin/ntl, etc., or is it a separate one like gmail, google, yahoo etc? If the latter, I'd advise changing your password with them as well.

  • My points have not been returned yet...still waiting.
I am glad though i printed off everything that showed up in the order they placed.
All my clubcard vouchers that were used were there to see along with their monetary value.
I have all the vouchers at home and i have now checked off each number of voucher against the ones they have used.
The only ones that appear not to have been touched are vouchers with a value of under a fiver.
Another thing i am now very suspicious of is the fact that some of the vouchers used were ones i didnt even have yet???
Didnt know that until i checked those voucher numbers this morning.
They came a few days ago with my "Double your fun this summer with clubcard boost" vouchers.
    They are all used already.
They were all among the vouchers used to pay for the order placed to Tesco Direct on 19th May 2015.

So, whether on-line in MCA or looking at your latest till receipt your points haven't jumped up to reflect the vouchers incorrectly used, credited back to you!?
This, I'm very surprised at, you first posted on the 22nd, if that was following your call - the points should have been back on at the latest the 24th!!
They can not reset a 'used' voucher, however, they may give you another option, if you wanted to use the voucher value in the near future - as opposed to for example at Christmas time.
In view of the delay, it may be worthwhile making another call - if need be speak to a 'team leader' - so you are clear what will happen next.
    HTHs - good luck.
