Back in June of this year we flew from Paphos(Cyprus) to Newcastle, but one hour into the flight the emergency siren went off and some not all oxygen masks fell from ceiling as you can imagine people were in a panic including crew,we had to do a rapid descent and we were diverted to Sofia in Bulgaria where we had to wait for new aircraft, we eventually arrived at Newcastle approx 7hours late.
We sent standard letter and our reply was this would be on hold until the outcome of the Huzar case. When we found out the result of the Supreme court against Jet2 we sent a further letter asking for our claim to be actioned. They have now replied advising that the issue with the aircraft had been caused by an error during previous contracted maintenance under taken by a third party, they then say this was extraordinary circumstances excluded under EC REGULATION 261-2004,they are sighting a recent judgement in the matter of Mr Ronald Huzar v Jet2.com Ltd
What is our next step or are the reasons given by Jet2 correct or is this just another delaying tactic

Hi lasiesta,
Welcome to our world of flight delays.
The first step is to post in the dedicated Jet2 thread.
The second is to read Vaubans guide, followed by the last few pages of the Huzar thread, then post any questions you have in the most appropriate thread.
Cheers,
NoviceAngel
PS To be more helpful it does sound like you DO have a genuine claimAfter reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
