    Had firestone.
    Would go for Kumho.
  • I've used Maxxis briefly for a couple of months, not bad, but not as good as the Kumhos they replaced.

    What size are you after?

    Another +1 for Kumho's.

Put 4 of them (KU 31's) on my old 3 series M-Sport shortly before I sold it a neighbour a couple of years ago and they definitely let you get throttle happy both in the dry and the wet.

He's done 16K on them since owning it, still has around 4mm of tread left on the rear and about 6mm on the front, and he is certainly what some would call an "adventurous" driver when he goes through the corners (both in the dry and the wet).

They obviously aren't the best out there, but at £75 a corner (at the time) I wasn't going to get anything better in that price range.
I will say if you have the gonads when cornering (along with the confidence) then you'll get through the bends 99 times out of 100 without losing your anal nerve whether it's wet or dry at speeds much higher than you thought possible from a mid range tyre.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

I have event tyres on the front of our Panda they seem indestructable been trying :rotfl:; because they really do not hold the road well. Lots of understeer!

    Why not sort the puncture?

Strangely, I've had Events in the past and found the opposite - more stick than gorilla snot (and a nice gentle breakaway if they do let go) but lucky if they last 15k.

Maybe depends what compound they could get on special at the time? :rotfl:

eta: It seems they're a Dutch company, been going since 2005, and actually manufacture their own rather than farming out to China. No connection to the mobile guys either.

My Hankooks have been good on my Hyundai - they're fitted as original equipment from new and replaced with the same due to decent mileage and all round grip

depending on the car as others have said more details needed on that.
  • I have had Nexens, very good tyre.

However, I paid a lot less than £53.94 at my garage.
  • I've probably had them all. All much of a muchness. I'm no tyre snob.
