  • I would have to say that my husband is a little disorganised with finances and I am not sure I would trust him with paying bills etc so so I can empathise to a certain extent. I tend to look after that side of our relationship although all our everyday spending and bill money is joint so he obviously has access to it .

Most couples I speak to has one party which is better or more organised so I do not think you are that unusual and I would say take no notice of the comments saying ditch your partner and find someone more mature if you are both happy with your relationship in every other way. It may well be that your fianc! never had any guidance on how to manage money growing up or had bad examples from his parents so has decided to abstain from what most people would consider the unpleasant but necessary part of managing our money - ie paying bills!

If you are unhappy with having sole responsibility make him take an interest and perhaps put all your bills on direct debit. I would be a bit worried about not having any joint finances though as what would happen to him if anything happened to you? He would essentially be penniless and unable to access any money at all if all his wages go into your account.
