I've not got myself a Belkin wireless modem / router, it's connected directly to my Dell PC, I've configured it as it should be but when I try and connect to broadband it says "Please attach phone line to modem"
Thing is it is attached and working perfectly.
Any ideas what I've not done / done wrong please?

Is it ADSL or Cable?
You may be using PPPoE when you might need need PPPoA.0 -
It's ADSL and definitely PPPoA set up as I checked my BT Yahoo settings and set modem up accordingly.
That's why I'm at a loss as to why it's saying no phone line attached.....
Doesnt help when the useless little pamphlet you get with it says "You'll be networked in minutes" :mad:0 -
when i got my belkin wireless modem/router
i had problems, the way round it was to connect to belkins website via the old dial link and then using the technical online help chat, got it solved.smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Has router got an ADSL-SYN light and is this lit?
Have you just changed from dialup to broadband? Have you reconfigured your browser to connect via LAN rather than dialup? If it's still trying to dialup perhaps it's complaining that your old dialup modem is not connected.0 -
Can you check the ADSL cable going to the ADSL wall socket?0

Not sure if you can Telnet into the belkins.
If I've any issues with a modem/router telnet can tell you so much. If I do a status cmd it tells me the status of the router/modem......
Telnet can offer you info about syn. faults, harware faults and kernel faults. All can contribute to a non-working modem.0 -
hello!
Yes, the light is lit up when the router is on for connection to PC and telephone socket, plus the network light is on.
Phone line all connected via filter and working fine with normal broadband modem (which I had to reinstall!)
I've had broadband for nearly a year so not just switched. It's not trying to dial up, just connect via the normal connection method but then complains that phone line not connected.....0 -
Strange, I'd ring technical support. You may be really unlucky and part of the Modem may be screwed.0

Wouldnt surprise me the way my luck has gone with routers over the last week!!!!!!!0
