Well that is good news as you will have your answer from them in max 6 weeks.
Not sure why you blustered about 8 weeks today then.
I hope I won't get like that when I will be 65 and over.
If it were YOUR money they had, then I suspect you would be a lot less dismissive of other people in the same boat - why should we wait up to 2 months to get back money that should never have been taken in the first place?
Not to get TOO !!!!!y, but YOU sound to be already well past 65 by the way you talk :-)
And, if I were you, I would give up the bluster before it become too much of a habit (just like a lot of older people :-))
Ever heard the phrase "when you know you're in a hole, stop digging!"??0 -

...but it wasn't taken was it; YOU paid it to them.
Despite seeing a problem with completing a transaction, you went and did it all over again?

I doubt there would have been all the problems reported if people had been a bit more rational and not insisted on applying on the first day when the server was very obviously over-loaded.
Hardly helpful that an over-excited Martin Lewis was still telling everyone on TV last night that if they want the bonds they must "apply now!"
Totally bonkers when both the NS&I and Osborne have given assurances that the bonds will be around for "months rather than weeks". And Osborne is savvy enough to know that misleading oldies just a few months from an election wouldn't be a great idea. Journos don't need to worry about such things.
If the server is obviously over-loaded then the best course is to come back another day. Otherwise don't be too surprised if the server gets confused and you have problems later.
I applied for a 3 year bond for my husband the following Tuesday and had no trouble whatsoever obtaining one and getting confirmation from NS & I that everything had gone through smoothly. He was already registered with them and also by then the first frenzy had died down.A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.0 -
It looks like NS&I have blocked the useful 01253-840007 number, so you now have to go through the main overloaded number (unless anyone else knows different).0

Very simple, very easy.
However I am registered with them as I have some Premium Bonds. I am also registered for phone and online access.
So buying the new Bonds with my debit card was child's play. It took all of 3 minutes this morning. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
