Is turning a phone into a hotspot and tethering it to a tablet for long periods - any more of a risk than just using the phones 3g?

Thanks

What kind of risks we taking about ?

Its pretty much the same form of connecting, only difference is your phone is inbetween the tablet and the 3G network.

I was just wondering if the phone pumps out more radiation when used as a wifi hotspot

    :rotfl: comedy.
  • I would have thought the biggest danger would be if tethering is not inluded in your call plan.

"Wireless Internet routers or Wi-Fi modems use dangerous electromagnetic radiation to send their signals to your computer through walls. If you have a wireless Internet router set up in your home or office (or WiMax, Blue Tooth, Air-Port Extreme, Air-Port Express, Netgear, D-Link, Belkin, Linksys and other wireless network devices) you are receiving massive EMF exposure, and living or working in a dangerous soup of radiation."

Says a website trying to sell you protective products :rotfl::rotfl:

I would say using a wi-fi hotspot is no more dangerous than hang-gliding whilst blindfolded.

Seriously I would say its not a worry we need to have.

Sticking the phone next to your brain and making/receiving calls will have more radiation risks.

The microwave band officially starts at 300 MHz and ends at 3GHz, and all mobiles work within that range (for 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi) so if you are that worried about radiation then stop using your mobile and move house if you happen to live near a cellular base station.

You may also want to ditch your wireless router and cordless landline phone if you have either as both operate at 2.4 GHz (which is the same frequency a microwave oven works at).
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
