Haha! In my mad calculations I managed to (I think) end up with an extra £10! I'm debating what to do with it!

    I could:

    a) use it on fuel if I desperately need it
    b) use it on groceries - increase my £10 budget up to £20 - this may be risky
    c) if I haven't used it by the time payday come along I will make my August payment on the credit card £100 instead of £90!

    Yippee all going good.

The only problem is I haven't really budgeted for my 30th at the end of August, however I am going for a day out on the 22nd - which will be paid for, I am maybe out on the 28th which is after payday and the 31st - which is also after payday so if I budget money in September from the saved virgin money and being frugal, I should be OK for these two days.

One even is maybe a night out on the town but is touch and go as to if it will happen. The other day is a meal and the cinema so £25 max will be fine.

Had a day of a few changes!

Virgin Media rang me - thought it was weird that they hadn't sent the confirmation through - they offered me a deal where I get the phone line as normal and my internet - same terms - unlimited download at 50mb - for just £18.99 including the phone line! So basically my internet for £2 odd. When the deal is what I actually use and is £15 monthly saving! I just loose my TV box which I barely watch- I just need to get my doctor who's off asap before they disconnect me! Which I'm doing as we speak!

I have been invited for an interview for an accounts role next week and been put forward for another role so things should be moving there.

We have decided to take a break of several months of drama, so I will save £10 there - our hearts weren't in it and life is getting in the way of commitments to rehearsals. It's a shame but I for one will welcome the rest. I got £5 from this months subs back so that has gone in to the birthday pot. I still have my random £10 as well, so all is going well on the pennies front.

I passed my Working Effectively exam for my AAT course today - next one is booked for 3 weeks time so I am on course to completing in October as planned.

    Xx

    Hi all!

*Hangs head in shame and what I have done is not actually that bad!!*

All I did was go shopping with a list on Saturday and bought a few more items - resulting in a small overspend! I spent £17 when I only had £16 and I spent my £5 as well. If I had been stricter I could have got away with £12 total for what I actually needed. Some of the items were that I bought 2 of something, instead of 1 and if I did run out, I could have had the money to buy another if needed.

The main result is my car has barely any fuel and I need to make it last until Friday!

Well need to be very careful this week!

    Hi

Well yesterday was a very looooooonnnggg day in work, but at least resulted in me earning rather than spending.

The fuel tank has just gone on to red which means I may get 2 more days out of it! I need 3!!!

The only spending today will be work spending, so I get the shopping buzz but its not my money :)

At SW tonight for weigh-in, still in target, so its still free :)

Not much else to say other than I discovered Adult Coloring yesterday, so I dug out my old fine-liners and printed some pictures off and spent yesterday evening just coloring. It was lovely. So less stress than some evenings, and I went to bed quite happily at 9.30pm.

    xx

Who ever posted the link in another thread for the resourceful cook - I salute you! Its amazing and based on next week, it reckons I will spend £17 on the ingredients for the meal plan, but it doesn't know that I have most of the bits in already, so I am hoping that my budget of £20 will be more like £12!

Yippee! Been paid a day early, so sorted out all my finances. New signature is below with new figures.

Paid my rent a day early as well which will please my dad!

Had to fill up on the way home - £10 didn't quite last a week, but from next Saturday, I may be able to get away with £15 per week, which if I can, will reduce my fuel bill this month by £15 and by £20 for subsequent months :) More money to put into savings :)

I have just edited my YNAB to reflect this - I'm up by £18.06 which I may move to one of the other savings goals for the meantime, however like I have said in a previous post August is my 30th, so I may need pennies for this! I'll allocate it to my Birthday/Christmas fund which should be ok.

    Done that now!

Like I said, I am hoping this weeks food budget wont go over the £20 that I have. I hope that I actually have some money left over which I can put towards savings.

    Hi all.

A couple of changes have been made to the budget.

I have spoken with my mum again - I just let her know how I am doing on the ol' budget and show her where I am making savings.

I asked her about whether I needed money for the few events coming up in August for my birthday. She said I was probably best putting some aside so I am only going to pay £50 off my CC and put the other £50 in my birthday fund, then if I don't spend it or what ever is left can go off the card at the end of the month.

She also agreed to send me an additional £100 to pay off it - it is the last of the money from her - she had a refund due. I didn't want much, so I agreed £100 was plenty. I don't want her to pay off the card - I want to do it, to be able to stick to my budget.

So the CC is down to £250 now, and will be down to £200 by the end of August at least. I have to add £56 to it at some point but not till September/October for my final exam - but I want to save this up in the meantime, so when it hops on the card, it can come straight off.

I have £20 budget for this weeks food, and I went to a frozen food shop and spent £4.85 - so well within the budget. I need to do my food plan this evening and make my list, but I am setting myself a "No Pasta & No Bread" challenge throughout August as I'm sure my digestive system doesn't like these 2 foods. So the frozen food (all vegetables) will be what I live off.

Also this time next week, I will be heading to stay at my mums so food won't be an issue, so next weeks £10 budget will be rolled over to another week, with another intention of not spending it at all.

I have been to the hospital today to meet with a consultant as I need an operation, which will leave me incapacitated for 1 week, so I will save £15 that week on driving. I will probably eat the house out instead! This could be anytime in the next 2-8 weeks!

I have edited my budget and providing all plans work out, I will have the CC paid off in November, the exams fees in October and plenty for my other up coming items. I could bring my CC forward as I have £100 remaining in September and I doubt I will need this for anything, so could make my CC clear in October if I put my mind to it. Only 9 weeks to go!
