You're doing brilliantly. Your mum is an absolute gem isn't she? :)

I hope the op goes well

I am trying to decide what to do.
I have enough savings to cover with a little help next month, to clear my CC in September rather than November. I will also have time to use the money from credit payment to get my savings back to the way they have been, by the time each bill is due.

I will be able to make more savings during this year, but not as many next year. If you were comfortable either way - wasn't stuck with interest payments, would you use money ear marked for other things, to pay off credit cards (only if you knew that you would be able to get that money back for when you needed it?

The benefit of doing it, is I would release more money in October and November than I could if I didn't pay it off, so if anything happens in those months (like a newborn is due to arrive) I could potentially have the funds to pay for it.

One good reason for doing this is I keep getting tooth ache and at the current moment I couldn't afford treatment until January - if I did this - I could.
The bad point is that I will fall out of sync with my restrictions - i.e a certain amount going to several things - I would have to get back in to a official routine in January - This will be difficult.

    What you you do?

My mum is adorable - I would still be struggling if it wasn't for her - She is fully aware to the penny of what I owe and she helps me out - she makes me stick to my budgets at the weekend! :T

Personally, I would pay if off mytee. One month of being really tight (to a sensible degree-don't starve yourself!) would be worth it for me. BUT, it's entirely dependent on your circumstances and that you're asking suggests to me that you think that it'd be a bit too tight for comfort.

Either way, you're doing it :)

    I have done it.
I have paid £200 off my credit card. Final balance is £50 which will be sent in September to clear it. Next statement will be clear!

I have used my savings to do it, but I will put back as following:

Car insurance deposit - £60 deposit when it is due in September
Home Insurance - £50 needed by December - Full amount In September
AAT Fees - - £86 needed by December - Full amount in October
MOT -£55 needed - £10 a month for Jan- May £5 in June
Passport Renewal -£78 needed - £20 per month from Jan - April
Christmas - £60 in October, £20 Nov, £20 in Dec
Final exam fee - £56 in October - when it is due

I don't feel any happier to be honest. The light at the end of the tunnel is almost there but I feel like my depression is getting worse, which means I don't think it was ever related to my CC like my mum thought.

I honestly don't know what is up with me.

    Morning all.

Today is a mid range day - I'm sort of happy, sort of not.
Think i'm just in a 'hunf' mood if you know what I mean.
Maybe i'm on the up because it is Friday - I don't know. I'd say then it was work getting me down, but i'm still not happy when I get home.

I'm moving to mu mums house tonight for a week. I'll be going home daily to see the cat - I live a small drive away - but i'll be looking after my mums dogs. I like her house, mainly because you can't hear her neighbors! I also love being able to wake up and look out on to her gorgeous garden. That will be like heaven in the morning.

My friend leaves work permanently next Friday :( She is moving to Dubai to work for Emirates! I'm so pleased for her and jealous, but she will have a ball and I wish her well. I'm just gutted she's going as she is like my confidant at work and anything that is annoying me, she gives me suggestions and hugs and Kalms, like yesterday when I was 2 seconds away from throwing my printer through the window. God my mood is just so bad at the moment...

Anyway - I spent last night trying to sort my YNAB out. I change between having a savings account one one screen and my main account on another, but something was not working with the figures, so I ended up merging the two and simplifying old payments. I got there in the end.

I need to get to be 100% on it soon, if I want to start learning SAGE next week!

Ooh I have my exam on Wednesday - lots to prepare between now and then, but totally do-able in the time frame.

Once the exam is out of the way, its the start of my birthday celebrations and then before I know it, it will be pay-day again and I can make the final credit card payment!

I am sort of wishing my life away again! Well in the meantime, I have decided to start a detox meal plan - my own devised one - Plenty of fish, veggies and fruit - no sugar, no dairy and no wheat. Mums filled the fridge full of these foods for me, so I'll have one week of these foods (except wheat) and start on the 1st September. Gives me time to prepare fully. I fully intend to eat cake on my birthday, so I need to get August out of the way.

Hope you're feeling a bit better today. I know I certainly go through up and down phases, sometimes for no reason. It's usually attributed to work though :( I don't know whether you feel this way, but when I nearly got debt free years ago, it was unsettling. I've always been a worrier and I suddenly started thinking I'd have no worries. What would I do with a relaxed mind? Well I never got debt free so I didn't have to face it :o I'm on a massive diet where I'm sure this will be the time I get to goal ;) and I'm on a debt busting mission. It's already worrying me about having to not worry about my health or finances. It will be a huge adjustment. Gawd I'm strange :o:rotfl:

Congrats on nearly paying off the credit card. That's brilliant. :)

    Take care :)

I have had a better day today Orange - thank you for asking.

I have barely moved from the table/bed/sofa - i have just moved from one to another. I got out of bed, to do some studying, then moved to the sofa to watch Netflix, now I'm on the Poang getting ready to go out to my bed at home with the cat. I will only be at home for an hour or 2 before I come back to get back in bed :)

I have basically spent the day slobbing around and I have enjoyed it. I accidentally ate wheat yesterday and i'm suffering from it today, just shows I definitely have a wheat intolerance.

So tired as well today, but that could be because I haven't done anything (NSD :D)

Last time mum was away, I got hold of my credit card and I managed to stick £50 on it. This is the £50 I still owe, so I am paying for the last time my parents went on holiday, this time.

I don't have many spends this week. The car needs fuel, but I am not filling up till i'm desperate as I have to drive quite a while on Wednesday for my exam, I want my fuel budget of £15 to last this, up till next Saturday, so in order to do it, i'll fill up on Monday/Tuesday. It should quite happily last.

I don't have a food budget this week, as I spent it the other day, but mum has left me with quite a bit this week at her house. However, the £20 next week, may not be enough, but thats a bridge we will cross next Saturday/Sunday. I could do it, if I am strict on my meal planning for the following 2 weeks. I get paid early this month because of the bank holiday.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

    xx
