District Heating Scheme question

I have just received an offer of housing that is part of a distrcit heating scheme.
I have no idea what this is or how it works but I am wondering if I am able to have a gas cooker in the property?
I have not yet seen inside the property so no idea if there is a gas connection/option there. I am hoping there is - I have only ever used a gas cooker so no idea what using an electric one is like
Not even sure if this is the correct forum for this question -feel free to move to the correct section.
Thanks in advance

A district heating scheme means that there is a centrised boiler and the heat from that boiler is distributed to the individual flats or houses. As you will not have a boiler in your property there is unlikely to be a gas connection.0
