Of course its easy .
You have your past usage .
You have a number of days in the year .
You have kWh tariff prices .
If you have no past usage then its a guess at average usage .
The MSE web site can only multiply the numbers you put in .
You had an EDF tariff you multiply the numbers as above and compare it to whatever tariff you want .
You also have to factor in any discounts.
Surely the whole point of comparison websites is that they compare all of the scores of tariffs available from the various companies, without someone having to do it 'manually'.
The contentious issue is that these websites present the information as 'savings' on your current tariff. This is often misleading as the 'current annual spend' is based on the assumption that when a fixed tariff ends, you will switch to the most expensive tariff with that company for the remainder of the year. e.g. If your fixed price tariff ends on 09 March 2015 you will switch to the most expensive standard tariff for the remaining 9 months of the year.0 -
Yes i agree that you need to actually do some reading and sometimes a bit of digging .
Thats why i say that MSE energy club would be better showing the basics in bold print .
Your standing charge the tariff cost and any discount plus any penalty .0 -

I agree, comparison sites should compare, but they never do, like apples and oranges
For instance they include standing charge, fair enough, but forget to factor in is sometimes not charged when paying by direct debit, like Npower
I am with Npower BTWEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
