    i wouldnt buy the house now even if they accepted your 1st offer - you can be sure it would be boobytrapped, kippers in the curtain rails etc
  • What you see as an acceptable house at a price YOU are prepared to pay maybe someone else's dream home, or they may see potential in it that you have not, or it just may suit them far more than it suits you and simply be a better match. In those cases they may be prepared to pay more than you have offered. There is not 'right' price for a property, it is simply what someone is prepared to pay for it. From what you say, it did not match your ideal enough for you to offer any more - if it had, then maybe it would be a different story.
