I've just bought a home in the last few months.
I have the EPC certificate, do I need to get an assessment done?
Edit - just checked:
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/green-deal-home-improvement-fund-details-announced
EPCs are valid if under 2 years old0 -
I was hoping to take advantage of this as our boiler has just packed up. I've already got an EPC from Feb 2013 which recommended replacing the boiler, but it looks as though I have to take up another energy saving measure in order to get the cash.
I've just moved into my flat (1960s purpose built) and I'm not sure whether I'm able to have cavity wall or solid wall insulation done as it's leasehold and they're the only measures recommended - bar replacing the light bulbs!0 -

I'm having same problems with the "second" measure ( on 2 properties)
Surely these schemes are devised by civil servants who want to keep their cosy jobs.
The govt could easily devise a simple green strategy that could benefit most consumers, and reduce carbon emissions0 -
Anyone know of an approved installer of external wall insulation in Bristol? The search on the .gov sit returns nothing.0

So the Green con is back, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot bargepoleBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Care to share why not?0 -
Last time there was a flue gas heat recovery option which at least combined well with the new boiler option. That's now gone, so would need to do something completely independent to boiler to get any cash.
Now there's a waste water heat recovery item on the list. Not sure many homes set up to make this a realistic option.
Don't think I'll be able to benefit from this scheme.0 -
I've called the Energy Saving Trust so many times recently and nobody mentioned that I should prepare a recent EPC (mine is 5 years old). Presumably I can't apply until I get one? After how quickly the last funding went I'm rather nervous now - just bought the property a few months ago and could really use it.0

I'm confused, it says you need to have a quote to be able to access the scheme. How do you get a quote in time for wednesday if they have only just announced this today ?0
