Fine for me. They do updates though which sometimes makes you unable to access it at certain times. Also, for it being a big bank, imagine how many people are also trying to access it at the same time as you.
Barclays site says - To get Online Banking at its speediest, avoid logging in at peak times. Generally, these are 9am-11am and around lunchtime Monday to Friday.

Why do people put up with this? Move to a bank with better IB. I've never known HSBC's internet banking to de down since whenever I first accessed it online, maybe 9 years ago. Yet I've been with abbey (isa) for 3 months and it's down every week.
  • I got moved from Woolwich to Barclays recently and I'm shocked at how appalling they are in almost every way in comparison to Woolwich. I'll probably change but I haven't got round to organising it. Even trying to pay in a cheque you have to fill in a paying in slip. It reminded me of going to the HSBC with my mum 20 years ago. Any other bank and you just hand the cheque to the cashier. It's like the dark ages.

But its probably easy for Woolwich to determine which one of their four customers the cheque should be paid to. At Barclays / HSBC, there will probably be four customers with the same name as that on the cheque, so unless you tell them which account to put it in, how will they know?

My problem with Barclays Online banking is that the figures don't always add up! I see that money has gone, but not who to or how much unless I work it out myself. Sometimes it takes a few days to update!

Well obviously I hand over my bank card with the cheque so they know what account to put it in
