Um, calm down, bud. It bothers me that the child will not get the chances at health and education it should have. It bothers me A LOT. And I expressed this in a somewhat light-hearted way. And now I have a miserable attitude and shouldn't attend, according to you, someone who's never met me and is judging based on a few lines written on the internet.

    So....remind me...who is it that's judgmental again?

I clearly don't share your sense of humour.

Good for Iceland, not good for the future NHS budget.)

And just for the record I hope you never need the services of the NHS because of actions that could have been avoided - like breaking a bone whilst skiing

I went to a baptism a few months ago. I didn't really want to go because I'd only met the mother once before (relative of OH's) - I too had a couple of issues with the whole thing (long story) but I didn't make anything of it - and we gave a present from about 6 of us, a bracelet IIRC

A keepsake or money into savings yes, toys definitely not.

As you are religious a bible or crucifix would be appropriate, otherwise non religious gifts such as silverware or china are the norm.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear

I suppose the way to look at it is if you would call someone a friend if they discussed you in such terms with strangers.

There were so many ways you could have asked your question without disparaging the parents, their lifestyle and their child rearing style. Unfortunately you chose none of them.

Personally I think you should decline the invitation as you obvious despise them so much. Rather than abuse their hospitality and kindness in inviting you to share their important family celebration.

They're not friends and I don't despise them. 0/10 for psychic skills. Keep practicing.

I guess you don't. Sorry, but I know of no treatments for this. You should still be able to live a full and productive life, though.

So, what, you think I think treatment should be denied or should cost the patient in those cases or something? And that is why I've organised protests against the Health and Social Care Act, which threatens the future of universally free treatment? I have to say, you people are doing pretty badly at being inside my head.
  • So are you a wind up merchant then?

I don't think it is a place many people would care to be .......seems quite an unpleasant environment.
