Download and save the CD image
Make sure that you clear the USB Flash drive of your content, as you will lose it all.
Pop it into a PC/laptop....
Download and run Rufus
You can leave the settings(apart from one) at the settings/Default shown here:
The one that should be different will be Create a bootable disk using... Change that to ISO image
New Volume Label is whatever you want it to be. You can leave it at whatever it says.
Click on the icon next to 'ISO Image' and navigate to the newly downloaded BIOS image. Double click on it to insert it and then choose Start.
It will format the drive and make it Bootable.
Once complete, you can close Rufus and use the tool as instructed.0 -
Thanks for all your effort so far NiftyDigits, it is very much appreciated.
When I double click on the ISO file Rufus gives me the following message:
Unsopported ISO
This version of Rufus only supports bootable ISOs based on bootmgr/WinPE, isolinux or EFI.
This ISO Doesn't appear to use either...0 -
So, we can extract the contents and use Rufus to create a Bootable USB drive. Use the defaults in the first screenshot.
Contents of the CD image here Unzip the contents to reveal the folder.
After you have created the 'empty' Bootable drive choosing the FreeDOS or MS-DOS option, drag or copy the contents of the folder(but not the folder itself) to the drive.
Once done, you can boot of it using the Lenovo and run the BIOS/Platform update by entering lcreflsh then hitting the ENTER key at Command Prompt. (The first letter is an L)
Flashing the BIOS is not without risk.0
