Morning one and all. Haven't had a read of all the posts yet so congrats to those who qualify and hugs to those in need.
I just wanted to say... I have been spending a stupid amount of time on the house buying and selling board as we are in that process. Coming back to OS is like having a hard day at work with bullies then going to your granny's or mum's for a big cuddle and a cuppa.
Thank you all just for being you.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I'm still sorting my kitchen cupboards , I've cleared out a corner one today it's got a narrow door but a cavernous space behind which has just got filled with carp2 bin bags later it's looks a lot better , next job the cupboard under the sink , which is the cleaning stuff and pots and pans , then they are all done I need to scrub the door fronts and that's that
I'm waiting in for a parcel so I think I'll settle down to wrapping some presents this afternoon0 -
morning all!
hester hope you get some sleep tonight.
dumpling well done on the weightloss :j
poor dd its awful when they ill
anna (hugs) you'll get used to it, hopefully within a few days little pooch will be used to it.Sounds silly i know, i had to inject my 12 yr old kitty six times a day for almost 18 months. SHe is the most bad tempered cat you will ever meet and hates postmen and vets so you can imagine what she was like with a needle. After the first week she came and sat next to me quite calmly and just let me do it. If anyone tried to give it to her she would literally go mental
Its blumming cold today, so glad i don't do the morning school run. Instead OH takes them, told ds2 he might be getting a taxi home today if i don't feel well enough.
Plans for today
Wait for deliveries (one just arrived)
dry all wet clothes again
attempt to do housework
bin day
make some kind of shopping list
order cat litter and cat food
Didnt go to minicon last night kids didn't to and ds2 was extremely stressed his routine went out the window at school so he came back in full blown meltdown.
Instead they had bacon sandwiches and cereal afters (they idea)
OH came cam in and bacon steak (ds1 nicked the biggest) mushrooms, egg and toast. Think ds1 must have ate half a kilo of bacon to himself
He eats like a horse but is scrawny as heck so i don't mind him scoffing away. Just funny watching OH's face as ds1 picked up the bacon steak off his plate saying thanks dad :rotfl:0 -
Morning all I had a nice suprise cheque from my late OH's lodge so yesterday went to Aldeees and blew to lots on a months shopping for Christmas odds and ends and a few treats .With my vouchers and money off stuff it came to a lot less than I thought.I costed it on Money supermarket and it came out at £77+ I got everything (and a few more bits for £54.13 so I am a happy bunny this morning and my food cupboards and fridge/freezer is bulging. So no more shopping for me this month
:):)
All my presents are wrapped and cards all written and sent so for once I am in front of the Christmas food/shopping frenzy and can relax and enjoy myself
Hope you all have a great day what ever you are doing
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all! Beautiful sunrise this morning but it has now clouded over and it has been raining. Have got two loads through washing machine and cleaned bathrooms.
DH has gone out to some corporate lunch and we are out at a party later. DS16 has a nasty cold, could be serious as he is on immunosuppressant drugs, so need to keep an eye on him. I said I'd pick him up from school, need to go out to post cards and buy cold meds - he has to have a specific type.0 -
Anna so sorry to hear about the diabetes its a bit of a shock at first, you will very soon get used to doing the jabs, (we had to inject little dog twice a day) the diabetes can be easily managed. Unfortunately we lost her last week (not down to the diabetes) but old age and other complications, its heartbreaking but we did the very best for her as I am sure you will xxanna (hugs) you'll get used to it, hopefully within a few days little pooch will be used to it.Sounds silly i know, i had to inject my 12 yr old kitty six times a day for almost 18 months. Thank you all for your kindness. William-cat is very easy to handle so I don't anticipate a problem with the injections. Plus, I know how his mind works - if I make it into a positive experience with affection and a small treat he'll be fine.
I've been in bed as I'm not feeling well (my father seems to have given me a flu-ey stomach upset thing) but have made it through to the study and am thinking about some writing. And I did run the dishwasher before I went to bed so not everything is grinding to a halt! Not Buying it 2015!NSDs w/b 29Dec14 1/70 -
Afternoon everyone!
Late one from me. I had an early morning meeting and then drove straight up to my place. Found piles of melting hailstones everywhere here, so glad I missed that piece of weather.
Filled the bird feeders, got the woodburner going, put a wash on and then the dishwasher and then sat down. We're off out tonight if I can summon the energy and will. My cold is almost gone so I slept really well last night.
Need to get some more logs in this weekend or next. As we don't send Christmas cards we have haven't got that chore - haven't sent any for over ten years now. No more shopping needed now until nearer the holiday time as I did a Costco run yesterday and stocked up on loo paper and ground almonds. The place was packed even though I got there before the end of school time.
Hope everyone is OK... off to start the weekend.0 -
Hi all; I haven't died, just not had anything of any interest to say and didn't want to bore you all.annagaradair wrote: »My cat's been confirmed as having diabetes so I'll be learning how to give him insulin on Monday.camelot1001 wrote: »tru - one of my favourite Christmas songs today, not sure about a Christmas owl though!

Afternoon all,
Where is the month going? I seem to take one step forward and two back, trying to do things and get organised!
Need to sort out travel insurance but always put it off because I have to phone up and go through DH's pre exisiting. and I miss out on the Quidco money off too
Came home from work to find DH sitting in his van waiting for me because he was in so much pain with his back, he couldn't put the handbrake on or get out.
Feeling a bit sad today as it would have been my Mum's birthday. I do find it comforting that I hope my children think of me as much as I think of her IYKWIM. I'd hate to be forgotten.
Sausages for tea0
