Baxi back boiler age

Hi
I have just bought a repossessed house and I can't get the boiler lit. It is a baxi back boiler; I can hear the gas coming through but there is no spark from the pilot light.
I'm going to get a quote for replacing it eventually but in the meantime just need it fixed! I have insurance which covers home emergencies including heating breakdown but the clause is that the boiler is less than 15 years old. I have no idea how old this boiler is. Does anyone know when they stopped being installed?
It's one with a old style gas fire in front.
Thanks
