BT Broadband cancelled my order!!

On 27 November I placed an order for BT broadband fibre & phone. It came with a £100 gift voucher for Sainsburys.
Today I got a phone call from their 08000 285 085, which I hung up on, in case it was a scam. They gave me enough information to tell me BT had cancelled my order.
When the man went away to talk to his manager, and make a counter offer, I hung up.
I thought he might ask for credit card details. As he had phoned me. I thought it might be a scam.
So I phoned BT myself, on a different number. They told me the same thing...a technical issue has happened, so they cancelled my order.
They could start a new order, but without the £100 Sainsburys voucher. He said I can only get that online.
Before I phoned BT, I checked their online offers. The £100 voucher has been reduced to £50.
I told the BT man on the phone, I would look elsewhere for a different internet provider.

Also having had a closer look at current offer, it is now 18 month contract, previously 12 months.
£10 a month for only 3 months, previously £10 a month for 12 months.
£50 gift voucher, previously £100 gift voucher.
I may be wrong, but seems they didn't want to give the better deal anymore, after I had a legal contract with them to supply.0 -
Same has happened to me too! I followed the link from money saving experts last e mail for this deal. Cancelled with no prior notice, no explanation. 2 hours on the phone later, had to take out new order but they agreed same terms (so far) I lot of messing about to get this and won't know till nearer agreed start up time if this goes ahead. Looking on Bt's own forum loads of people have had 3 and 4 orders cancelled. My worry is I'm going to be left without Internet at Christmas! :mad:0

Well done annieh2.
I got mine reinstated too, but they are a bit dodgy on the £100 Sainsburys voucher. He said to put in my old order number when I claim it.
I asked him to put those instructions in my new agreement email. Wanted it for proof, if they refused later. He said he would, but didn't.
I will keep my emails from the first agreement, and complain to Fair Trading if BT refuses the voucher.
I looked on the BT Forum, as annieh2 mentioned it. Found a message from a BT techie.
I followed his instructions and left a message to BT. At 8 am this morning, BT phoned me and arranged the original agreement.
P.S. Tried to leave a link to BT Forum thread, but this forum won't let me.
