Peel Centre, Stockport

Hi

I've received a parking ticket from the Peel Centre.

I went to Argos a couple of Fridays ago. It was around 7.50pm. The place was deserted.

I tried to buy a ticket. I spent 5-10 mins messing about with the machine but gave up. Argos was about to shut. Another motorist informed me that it was broken. The machine didn't say 'out of service' but it wasn't issuing tickets.

There's footage of the car. Shouldn't there be footage of me trying to buy a ticket? The machine was very close to the car.

These people who run the parking at The Peel Centre have been featured on Watchdog.

Any advice?

its ANPR cameras at the entrance/exit , not CCTV !

The signs tell you to contact Excel if there are problems, with phone number

ignore the mitigation etc, just treat it the same way as the hundreds of others for that car park (start with the newbies sticky thread)

How many times do I have to say it, faulty P&D machines are Not mitigating circumstances, if the PPC do not provide the facility for you to pay, any contract which might exist is voided.

True but that won't be the winning POPLA argument and if an OP tries to write about that, they could easily state who was driving which chucks away a winning appeal point. Most posters want things dealt with easily and the easiest thing is to follow what the NEWBIES thread gives them in terms of template appeals, written from the keeper not driver, which will win.

The linked thread (above) is about someone who is too late to appeal but this OP is not so simply needs to go back to page one and read the NEWBIES thread, which was there all the time before posting.

What does the NTK say? If it says 'failure to display a valid ticket', then this is not one of the reasons listed on the signage for which they will issue a parking charge.
