Excel parking ticket - Peel Centre Stockport

Apologies I believe there are already posts regarding these idiots but my circumstances are a bit different, last night I came home to a letter from Debt recovery plus saying I owe Excel parking £160 for being parked without displaying a valid ticket/permit on the 5th July. The thing is I moved house and I sent the DVLA my log books back at the beginning of June, too cut a long story short they sent them back to my old address and I had to mither them too sort it out, this got resolved 28th August. So yes the original parking ticket would have gone to my old address. The secong point to mention is I would have got aticket, I did get a parking fine many years ago so have learn't my lesson. the only thing is I may not have put the correct number in. Is it now too late to do anything?

thanks

It's NOT a 'fine' if spewed by a ppc nicola, as your Forum reading will quickly hammer home. [Maybe your old one was Council-issued, in which case, different story.]

It's a fake invoice, unenforceable and beatable, despite dvla laxity causing the problem.

re:[tweaked]'The second point to mention is I would have got a ticket' - what are you saying here?
    How do you know?
Do you mean, in view of your following sentence, 'The second point to mention is I would NOT have got a ticket'? because blahblah '... have learnt my lesson'?

You obviously haven't read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES at the top of the main page otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question.

You can either ignore anything and everything from the debt collectors as they have no powers other than to supply you with an alternative suppkly of firelighters or bog paper.
Alternatively you can write to them denying the debt telling them to refer the matter back to the parking company and any further contact from them will be deemed harrassment.

If you ignore things you could end up in court, so please do as advised and read the NEWBIES thread. Come back here if you have further questions once you have done that.

Start again with the sticky thread, please. I feel like deleting it tonight as no-one reads it. No idea why you think it's a fine or why on earth you would have paid one before, saying you'd learnt your lesson (what?).

And please don't mention the DRP letter chain again, nothing about it, no updates about the letters, nothing more about it is needed in yet another thread here, no-one cares about that well-documented junk mail. And it's not just me who feels like this about these threads about this tedious letter chain which is already covered ad infinitum in ten zillion threads over a decade. All waiting for you to search & read them. Sorry - do a search first before you judge me for feeling this way about this subject.

When you have read the sticky thread (which covers debt collector stage, begs people not to start new threads about debt collectors like DRP and covers the situation 'if you think you are too late to appeal' after all!), search this forum for 'DRP' or 'Recovery' and you will know why these threads don't get many replies. We can't reply again and again and again and again and again and again (that sums it up, all day, every day) about IGNORING JUNK MAIL like DRP letter chains.

That's why the sticky thread is there (to avoid this question which always goes round in a circle & gets precisely nowhere else) and that's why you need to search and read the shedloads of threads about DRP - sorry but do the search before you reply, and you will know what I mean, I think.

Obviously tell us what ECP reply with when you send them the template appeal, as you would. We are more than happy to discuss ECP after you've read the Newbies thread (and you may even find someone replying about DRP but not many can be bothered ever again, because the too many DRP threads are already here every day). But you won't get a POPLA code now so it's all rather pointless. And no, that doesn't mean you PAY the scam!
