    Morning all,
Got the decorators in today. Nice new living room for Christmas!:T

Welcome to Anna. We are a good lot on here!

Pizza and garlic bread tonight. Went out with friends for a curry last night. There was enough food to feed a small nation!

We are having DGD at the weekend to help us put the tree up, she can't wait apparently, keeps asking Mum "When am I going to Gramma's house?"

Cold here today so good job I am not going out!:rotfl:
    Have a good day guys.
    I Believe in saving money!!!:T

  • Good Morning everyone, it's been so dark here this morning but it's overcast today so not as cold as we were forecast. My kitchen smells wonderful I'm roasting lots of kilos of homegrown tomatoes to put through a sieve for puree to make some more room in the freezer for the christmas cooking I'm continuing this morning. It's good to delve down to the bottom of the freezer once in a while, some of these are labeled 2010!!!

The hound and I will be walking with Charlie the Retriever and his mum this afternoon which will be lovely and I've also got to try to fit in a trip to the library and W8rose too, also the butcher to get my joint of brisket for christmas now there's room to freeze it so it's going to be a busy, busy day. I'm off to DD1 again tomorrow, via DD2 for a snuggle with that Zebra child, as Saturday is the christmas concert from the Choral Society which is usually Handels' Messiah but this year if Bachs' Christmas Oratorio and I'll be up with her until Monday, back home here late afternoon. I'll try to post but sometimes life gets hectic and we're out every second of the time. Look after yourselves while I'm away abd welcome in to ANNA, lovely to have new friends joining in this friendly thread, Lyn xxx.

Sorry i didn't come back on yesterday, everytime i looked at a screen my head began to scream.

Tru thanks for asking hun, yeah i'm fine its purely muscle weakness from the osteoarthritis mixed in hypermobility. Happens all the time :)
elona i collapse then fall, gp / docs know all about it so they say take painkillers which i am doing finally. said the nerves are constantly and the painkillers will dull them down.:o
nmlc what a nightmare, work used to do that to me all the time. Really used to wind me up.

judi i have the same argument with mine :mad:doesnt help that my eldest son school wont allow them to wear coats on school property or have anywhere to store them. My youngest though i forced it on him. He wasn't happy but i was at least.

I decided to eacped the house yesterday and walked al of five minutes to my friends house. Well and truly exhausted, she was knackered to so we sat sorted out pjewwelley for the fundraiser on saturday. It was actually just nice and relaxing sitting in her warm home, having snuggles off her kitty and laughing away. Had lunch there to. DS1 came to retrieve me when he finished school. I was told walking without and its dark. He's 14 and 5ft 11 so no point arguing with him. My friend is very fond of him and fed him sweets and top gear while we chatted/ DS1 knows what i'm like so likes ti make sure i'm safe and well. Absolutely freezing yesterday, he basically carried me home and told me off saying next time use your stick! Little monkey also let out my secret of forgetting to eat so i now i have my friend telling me off lol. I'm alsways on her case about not eating :o she works long hours and hubby work away so only eats on the weekend or if we make her. So yep i had to make a promise of eating breakfast. Which i have two slices of toast and a cuppa.

Didn't make food when i got back instead OH made greek salad, hot chorizo, ham, feta cheese and wraps with plum chutney salad dressing. It was delicious all of it was demolished.

Tonight back on with stew i think, unless we go to mini con tonight. If we do we might have something there. Think we paid £10 last time for four hot meals with 2 rounds of drinks. Nice and cheap.

Now just waiting for dad to answer the phone so i can see about going over there and checking his medication and clothes out. Dementia nurse called me to check if his blood pressure tablets are the higher dosage. She lovely and said not to worry if they not as hes hot due to start them till 5th January.

Cold again today and full off oh joy
  • Morning, the light levels are low this morning so I am feeling just a tad depressed.....it was a lovely day yesterday, bright but cold, that I can do with, its the damp dark days that get me.

I washed yesterday finished drying it on the airer in the sitting room, now have the bedding to iron and a shirt for OH.

Getting ready for the market on Tuesday, made some small heats to hang up, stuffed the top bit and filled the bottom with lavender. I have another table runner I could finish if I feel like it. Not a Christmas one, but one you can use all the year round. Will see how I feel this afternoon.

We bought a coffee machine yesterday, tried it out when we got home and it worked fine, so set it to come on this morning, came down and no coffee, set it manually and the coffee was very weak and cold aarrgghhh.....will try it again tonight, if the same thing happens it will go back tomorrow.

WEll spoke to dad finally, he just got up, which is a a good thing as he was having trouble sleeping.
Now just waiting for my friend to call to see if she got my message about cleaning over there.

I know i'm lazy and i should clean dads house myself, but it is so darn hard. Hes a hoarder so the house filled to the brim with stuff. I have managed to strip lot of the stuff down but theres only so much i can do. He "rescues" junk from the bin and places it back in the house and his dementia is getting worse. Swine won't tell anyone about his medical condition. But my friend who is a self employed cleaner and knows about his condition is coming to help me. The plan is he has someone else other than myself who assist him. shes lovely and stubborn like me, she was going to do for free but i have made her accept payment. She knows i have tried so hard with him, she seen pictures from six months ago and said the house looks completely different. But still loads of work to do.

brrr think the heating is going to have to on, if OH comes home early he will shout if the house is cold. goes mad at him if i don't have it on :o i'm naughty what can i say, body needs heat and i'm trying to save money :rotfl:

    Morning all,

A big welcome Anna to the thread. We love people to join us.

Thursday means Grandbaby day. He's been fed, bathed and is now sleeping soundly in his cot.

    th_IMG_20141204_111316_zpsmnapgv5a.jpg

I lay him down in the middle of his cot but I see he has shuffled right up to the top. He always does that. One day he's going to go back to his Mummy with the indentation of his cot bars on his head. I think we need to think about replacing his space saver cot with something a little bigger soon. A full sized collapsible cot would be great as I don't really want a full sized cot in my bedroom. We'll see.

A question. Has anyone frozen spinach? Ive got a big bag but I can see it going limp before I use all of it.

Pasta bake for tea. Its quick and easy and I'm usually knackered by tea time on the days I have my Grandson.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

Still dark down here. Had brekkie and will go for a swim at 8am, then off for our first visit to our allotment, now that we have signed up for it. Plan to take some photos and have drawn a diagram. Offer of some plants in the spring from a friend too.

Anna welcome, my little dog had diabetes so if you want to chat I am here xx

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes :)

Congratulations CAROLBEE on getting an allotment! I love mine to bits so if I can be of any help please just ask.

REDRUBY - Hope your little one is doing ok? And I will let you know ... am thinking mine will need daily injections and not looking forward to it!

Just put the DW on and made myself a cup of tea - think it's time to pick up my needles and knit. It's so cold today and I'm trying to keep the heating turned to 18 rather than 20 but even the warmest room in the house (where the thermostat is currently) seems cold.

  • Welcome Anna animated-smileys-waving-003.gifgreat bunch on here

Grey, dank and a good deal colder here as well.

Sistercas I am glad it all went smoothly xx

Went shopping this morning and used my second £10 off £50 coupon spend in Aldi, so shopping only came to £41.60 that included a bottle of prosseccio, and a bottle of Aldi baileys :D

But it is still counted into the budget as £51.60 and the £10 has gone into the coupon/lotto pot. Which currently stands at £383 and counting :j

Cottage pie that I made yesterday for dinner so tonight's meal is a doddle.

Hello everyone! Judi, your Grandbaby looks lovely, so snuggly and cute! Very dark and drizzly here today, but not too cold. At work, fairly quiet but a few interesting enquiries and a I received a good probation report.

Dinner will be a lamb casserole/tagine from the slowcooker with rice or couscous. Had a look round the shops at lunchtime, not too busy but didn't buy anything, although got a few ideas. Long list of things to do at home tomorrow, including posting all the cards I have written.

The boys want to put the tree up at the weekend, but it still seems a bit early for me. We shall see.
