I ordered a pay as you go phone on the flash sale 30/11/14 and received an email saying it was out of stock and would be with me in 2 week, checking my bank account this morning i noticed 2 payments to carphone warehouse for the same amount had been taken so i ring them, waited about 30 minutes listening to music waiting for them to answer only for the girl i spoke to (politely) to hang up! i rang back and eventually spoke to someone only to be told that i wouldn't get the phone because it was a website glitch as the phone was no longer available on my network, the girl on the phone said she would have to cancel the order, so i have been charged twice for something they knew i wouldnt get? Carphone warehouse will never get my custom again, should money have left my account before any goods dispatched?

It's bad customer service, but most retailers have the right to withdraw from the sale without giving any reason why - in your case they've told you why.
30 minutes hold time is understandable at this time of year for any call centre, it's simply a very busy time.
Having worked in call centers myself it's very rare that an agent will blatantly just hang up on you for no reason, they have software which detects exactly that and sends a notification to their manager if they hang up for no reason = instantly sacked. It'll actually be a phone problem or line issue that's resulted in you being cut off.
Anyway, I'm not saying that any of this is okay, but they've technically not done anything wrong legally.0 -
I ordered three from them. I called when I got an initial email asking me to confirmt hat I wanted 3. The sales assistamt was extremely helpful not long in answering and I did get all three. The one I ordered clearly stated they only had 100 available. With so many people plunging in it's not surprising the system could only work out at which point they ran out after the event.
They shouldn't have taken payment though; I wouldn't have a problem getting it back, having dealt with them for years on (mainly) scores of contracts.0 -
For some reason i cant login with noodle neck, so carphone warehouse can take more than the agreed cost of the phone and be within the law? just trying to get my head around it, if thats the case there is something wrong with the law.0

They don't all take the money straight away because i ordered a phone from Esaver and got confirmation of the order
I then got another email from them saying its out of stock and they would not be getting anymore in and they hadn't taken any money from my account.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0
