I have tonnes of Avios at the moment so now we are hitting the IHG card. The £99 one gives you enough points as a signup to stay at the Intercontinental at Times Square as well as Platinum status. . Spend £10K and get a free night anywhere in the world that is associated with IHG
I was lucky enough to get it earlier this year when points accounted for status so we have now hit spire using the Virgin wheeze :)

Definitely a card worth looking at. As you know, Hawaii is expensive and spending a few quid (+£99 fee) gave us enough points for two nights and 30k points remaining, instead of stumping up £300+.

I'm just doin the IHG promo then it'll be cancelled ASAP before the February renewal!

The ex-EU rates you got were good... Was that using the £ + avios deal?

Have been sent an offer of 25% off at Venetian. Room price comes in same as Aria, except aria comes with $200 dining credit for our 4 night stay.
    Not sure what to do!

Waitrose? Am I missing a trick?!

    No :)

I meant Waitrose shoppers as opposed to the Tesco points collecters

Yeah that was the one. £400+ I think 30K avios.
I wouldnt know if Hawaii is expensive, I only spent 6 hours there.:D

We have decided that we are getting a bit old for drinking and gambling every night and the long journey, so we are scaling down the Vegas trips. It will probably be just once a year from now on, then maybe try somewhere new and a cruise.
We already have next year all booked. April Vegas, June Med cruise, August New York and Christmas Tenerife
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

The Virgin wheeze points still count for status. Funny enough I'm transferring over some at the moment to get me to Spire

Last year was the first time we went twice in one year, and the May trip was San Diego/Vegas/Lake Las Vegas, so really not full on Vegas either. We're happy to go once a year, and do other holidays. So many other places to see! Looks like you have a nice varied line up planned! :)
