I'm being quite sad and am keeping a daily eye on the VA website, to see how the prices fluctuate over time.

I've been keeping a record since the first day flights were available (16 Oct 2015) for an economy LGW-LAS return journey with VA from 9-16 Sept 2016.

    They've barely changed...
    Most expensive: 990.66pp (today)
    Cheapest: 989.26

I'll provide updates if I notice a significant drop!

Ex-Eu from Dublin via LGW with Virgin is £424 on those dates

I would not expect these fares to come down to an "acceptable level" until about May\June next year.

There may be "sales" in Jan and then August but it's a popular destination.

Ball park figure of about £550 for LGW-LAS is IIRC about average

As you are this far out it is worth looking into the EX UK fares as there are BIG savings in the higer classes for little hassle.

I've got 2 x UC returns Ex DUB for August 2016 for £2015 total

Virgin want £3200+ EACH for LGW-LAS

    YES IMHO

Set your self an acceptable level of fare and then set up an alert on Kayak to look for this.

    Consider EX Uk

Look on Holiday Pirates for mistake fares.

    Sorry ;)

Starting your journey outside of the UK, so not from LGW to LAS but say from Dublin, or Amsterdam or Oslo

You still end up on the LGW-LAS flight but you start in (say)

    DUBLIN-LGW-LAS-LGW-DUBlin

Trick is you do not need to catch that last flight (LGW-DUB)

Yes there are lots of other options, I'm just interested in LGW-LAS :)

    hi

I hope you dont mind my butting in but im sure flying to outside the uk, in this case dublin/coperhagen as quoted, would SAVE you money.
but lots of people do sometimes prefer to fly direct so i think its a personal choice, price(maybe saving money) vs conveince(sp) ( paying a bit more but flying from a to b and then c to d) if that makes sense?
some useful articals on the first page if you have time to look?

Do you do alot of flying and maybe have some sorta flying club memebersip card? prehaps you could get deals that way?
    hope this may help
