Where did that come from? The person who's telling you that it's all legit, honest? And the phone number is also on that website?

So, basically, you're going to phone a number provided BY the putative scammer and ask whoever answers if they're planning on scamming you...?

This is getting smellier by the minute.

Let's look at the domain name itself...
Registered a fortnight ago. No apparent links to the limited company. Just a spurious name and a hidden-because-individual address.

    Domain name:
    crd-transport.co.uk

    Registrant:
    wear

    Registrant type:
    UK Individual

    Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.

    Data validation:
Registrant contact details validated by Nominet on 17-Nov-2014

    Relevant dates:
    Registered on: 17-Nov-2014
    Expiry date: 17-Nov-2015
    Last updated: 17-Nov-2014

Yes I got the website link from the person who advertised the details on Ebay. I was going to phone to begin with but not now I'm already ignoring it. Thanks for your input you have been helpful but yes the DNS age is ridiculously young!

You seem to have no focus at all OP. You haven't provided a single iota of detail about the car, the advert or the seller, but are quite happy to splurge the details of a company (the name of which you got wrong initially), that your seller says the car is located.
If some Nigerian ebay scammer gave out my readily available details as where a car was being held (with no evidence there was a link between the scammer and the yard) and you published my info on the internet, I assure you this thread wouldn't be so long.

My focus was to find out if this is scam and I have found confirmed this so no I don't think I have lost focus. If anything I think you have been less than helpful in your posts and almost hostile.

Yes the name isn't EXACT but some companies do register under a slightly different name and advertise themselves with a slightly more public friendly name.

As stated before this information is on the public domain both on the scammer website and the companies house website which means I did not 'splurge' this information anywhere it's already there. It's not my fault a scammer is using this registered address as a front and tarnishing this businesses name.

Also, I have already reported this as a phising site. To say that it was my intention to put this information on a forum and tarnish the company's name is entirely an unfounded accusation.

Nobody's "insinuating" B. B have been named, but a little light digging shows that it's almost certainly nothing to do with B. B's reputation is untarnished.

    There is no libel whatsoever.

There is no false statement. There is no damage to their reputation. There is no defamation.

That's exactly how I see it. I am not blaming the real company, only bringing to light that they have unfortunately been dragged into this scam

Obvious scam from your first post.
Online and untraceable contact - check
    Owner apparently abroad - check
Car well under market value - check
Dodgy website to try and convince you it is legit - check

If it walks like a duck etc...
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Yeah it was setting off alarm bells the more and more I looked into it. Good job I didn't fork out the money! They're getting better and better masking themselves I hope they didn't catch too many people with this scam

Indeed, well you can always do your bit to help. Won't work with this one since you said the ad is already gone but you can always report dodgy ads on Autotrader et al and if you're feeling really frisky you can also report to the online fraud office (cannot remember their name). I know it might not seem like it's helping, but if everyone did, then these scammers would run out of options.

I contacted a trader earlier. Seems someone has advertised a car under their name. If you check the landline and seller details its the trader.

But they dont have the car advertised. Not the type of vehicle they deal with. They only have expensive prestige stuff.
But the mobile is the scammers number.

So they are hoping that people use the mobile number.

You really have to be careful these days. I went to look at a car today. Traders name not the same as on google streetview so its a new business, But when they showed me the paperwork in the office i could see paperwork with the old trading name on it.

Just made me think they change names when they sell a dodgy car.

Obviously not very good scammers, as they didn't follow up on a potential mark who had contacted them.
