G24 parking fine

Hi

I've received a fine from the G24 and followed the advice of sending a "soft appeal" letter which has been rejected, however the rejection letter didn't include a popla number/verification code despite asking for one.

I phoned G24 and was told that their computer systems were down and that I didn't need one anyway as the charge notice number was adequate, am I being delayed on purpose or is this correct?

Thanks in advance

    This is utter rubbish!

Complain most strongly to both the BPA and DVLA - details in the Newbie Sticky.
  • Please note that G24 left the BPA on 1st October 2014 to join the rival Independent Parking Committee.

It will be useful to know when the parking "incident" took place because things will be more complicated if this was on or after 1st October.

That is correct - you have no POPLA opportunity - didn't you realise this is no longer a BPA member? Why phone a PPC, ever? DON'T!! They are in the IPC and the PCN number IS enough to try an IAS appeal - should you want to bother!

    It depends on the signage!

Here's one today where I told a poster to ignore it and not to bother with the rubbish IAS stage, but to complain to the Store Manager (in this case, Wickes):

and here's another from today where the sign is worded badly, IMHO in such a way as to create no contravention or charge arising from an overstay:

So, was yours an overstay accusation and is your sign like the first link (where an IAS appeal was not recommended) or like the second link (where I think it's worth trying)? Get a picture or two - you will need it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
