Well done to Conecopia for agreeing there is no reason to with hold your vested interests... not all landlords agree... see Claptons post, he wants to remain very hidden and secret... Why?
If all of you know it all why are you here?
Why bother to waste your time writing?
I know you can all almost do nothing and make money while the housing market continues to inflate, so maybe this is all you have to keep you occupied?
Really ..... why do you bother with this site?Peace.0 -

Indeed a very real question, as you are determined to learn nothing, determined never to research and quote any facts or figures; refuse to answer any questions, refuse to develop any ideas or consider their consequences and hide behind silly slogans.
By the way, what facts and figures do you have about the number of new builds that are sold for owner occupation and how many are bought by landlords? What facts and figures do you have about how this varies between developments funded by foreign money and those funded by UK money?0 -
How widespread is the problem according to land registry figures in most the country prices are no higher now than they were 10 years ago. The real problem is London where prices are about 66% higher and to a lesser extent the south east where prices are about 20% higher.0

In housing there are many choices, and if BTL (or Private LLs, it would be interesting to know if you draw a distinction) offends you, you can do something else.I don't think the government especially cares about small scale investors, they do however care a great deal about bankers being able to continuing profiting from mortgages. If the landlord does very little to earn the money to pay off their mortgage, the banker who issued the mortgage really is on easy street. The only person in this equation who is being bent double and shafted is the tenant of course.0 -
LoL Clapers you have a selective memory, I have posted plenty of reference websites with facts and figures over the past year.
Carper... It's like going around in circles discussing here..... Even in places that have seen static property prices, wages have been in decline, cost of living has been increasing, mortgages more difficult to obtain... these are some of the problems that the young and the less fortunate are suffering.
This is a merry go round of madness, Groundhog Day, discussing with people with goldfish memories.
What do you both get from posting here, and why do you post here? I'm asking again because you both continue to avoid my question.Peace.0 -

Yes, but do tell us what percentage of new builds that are sold to landlords and how this varies on whether the development is funded by foreigner or UK money.
You repeatedly tell us that new building is pointless because landlords buy most of it and that foreign funding of UK building is the root of all evil.0 -

As a BTL LL, I'm not going to sit idly by and watch BTL LLs be denigrated. Especially where that denigration lacks substance or logic.
More generally, I fear for the amount of Internet pap on the Internet. I certainly wouldn't want anyone to take these threads in any way seriously when making decisions about what kind of housing to choose.0 -

Judging by the posts it seems most as some sort of mental masturbation regarding their wealth and financial prowess. In fairness, it is a money orientated forum so it is not surprising that so many members enjoy this type of self pleasuring regarding their wealth and financial gains. Of course, their decisions will be favoured by profit rather than people so we really can't expect any sort of moral or empathetic response from them.0 -

I post here for amusement.
As you want the backgrounds of posters here goes the only property I own is the one I live in which I have struggled to buy. I have retired early (in fact I took redundancy when offered) from a job that pays about the average for a full time male although I live in the southeast where property prices are higher.
What question am I avoiding I didn't realise I was.
What's your background.0 -

You come across as a very jealous and envious person..... Just saying, P.S I'm not a BTL'er0
