I have just got to the part where they are explaining how the boomers have made out like kings while the young are locked out.

Look my old friend,
Assuming your mummy will allow you to go out on your own, why not try living in a place without boomers where you can enjoy all the benefits that are rightfully yours.
Let's see, All of Africa (maybe except SA which has a few retired boomers) but that leaves all of South East Asia and South America
You have done nothing to justify the vast good fortune you have inherited from the boomers and those that came before them.
Just see what life would be like without boomers.
Peoples of the UK are the envy of most people in the world: many risk their lives for what you consider is a 'right'.EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%

What was the new information that caused this reaction?0 -
Well, I thought it was most about how London property (new homes appear to be built specifically to sell at outrageously expensive prices to investors) is being bought up by foreign buyers en masse, thus causing all London prices to rise substantially, than about any 'boomers'. But the poster who constantly spews hatred at his parent's generation (something seriously wrong with his relationship with his own parents perhaps) is completely blind to this fact. He doesn't mention that, for example, if foreign buyers were taxed properly when they bought properties, this would help to control the costs and perhaps make properties affordable to the indigenous population.
And of course he also didn't mention the fact that the programme showed how many of his hated 'boomers', who themselves don't look particularly well off, are actually selling their own properties in order to give spoiled offspring handouts to enable them to buy properties in London.
Unbelievable.0 -
Wow, C4 comes up with a bombshell that property prices especially in London are very expensive & foreign buyes invest there. Who would have guessed?0

Houses should be for homes, not profit.
Stop commercial investment in residential property NOW.
Stop non UK passport holders from buying residential property NOW
As with waste recycling and local government funding from central government, we need to link core funding to targets for house building. So if a council doesn't build its allocation of houses, it doesn't get core funding.
Councils can use the pension fund money to reduce the risk for the bankers to fund house building. This is low risk, the councils can leave the funds in housing or sell it off.... only to owner occupiers!
These New houses should be only available to owner occupiers, in the first instance... only then should buy to let be allowed to buy them.
Councils should decide and publish how much letting property is needed in there area on a yearly basis.Peace.0
