Despite your last sentence,I can not resist!

Full refund and get to keep the product.
Call me Thomas, but I have my doubts, about this story.

Think what you like Thomas . I ve got better things to do with my time than come on here making up stories . When the lady phoned me up this morning there was no mention of me returning the hob so unless it says to in an accompanying letter with the cheque I won't have to will i .

But you won't be keeping it either, right?

In your own words you "lost faith in it" - or does the fact you now have a full refund and the hob magically bring back your "faith" :undecided

Actually lol I won't be keeping it I'm looking online for a replacement but it won't be that type again. I may get one from John Lewis who offer at 2 year guarantee. Once I get someone to take this one out and fit the other it will be getting taken to the skip.
