Does anyone have a recipe for these, I'm after the syrup type ones to make with my kids.

Ingredients with weights would be good.

    Thanks in advance!

  • this is the recipe we used when we were kids, making a gloopy syrup and its really easy to remember just 400g of everything to make about 24 crispy cakes.

measure 400g margarine/butter , 400g drinking choc (sifted) and 400g golden syrup into a saucepan. Melt on the hob (takes about 2min) stirring all the time.
Measure 400g corn flakes or rice crispies, then when all the other ingredients are melted together forming a thick dark brown gloop stir it into the crispies. We serve ours in bun cases straight out of the fridge.
    Good luck

I know it is not the syrup recipe that you would like but these are yummie!! Very sweet though! My mum and me made when I was little:

    300g Butter/Marg
    300g Marshmallow
    300g Toffee

Bung all in a big bowl ping in the microwave until all are melted (it helps to stop the microwave half way through and give it a good stir) .

Add Rice krispies until you feel you have enough - no exact measurement here! place in baking tray and chill in fridge. You can also top these with chocolate. cut into squares with a big knife!

You could adjust this recipe to make less - just so long as all measurements are equal :T

    Thanks

Hi, there  I've been searchng for older threads, but can't believe how many spellings there are for these cakes ;):D Take a look at this one - toffee crispies. I'll add this thread (an some others) to that later, to keep all ideas together.

Does anyone have an easy to follow recipe for rice crispie cakes - similar to "Rice Crispie Squares" - I'm pretty sure it'll have golden syrup in it somewhere.

Any other ideas for things to do with Rice Crispies (except add milk and eat as cereal!!!) or cornflakes - I've a packet each of Smart Price that the kids don't particularly like on their own.

I want to make something nice without having to buy any ingredients ... my baking cupboard is reasonably full except for chocolate and eggs as my daughter decided to make herself a 4 egg scrambled egg on toast for breakfast - arghhhhh!!!
    Thanks for your help
