Well hr are saying the email was not an offer - just information

Is there anyway of appealing this because I think it was obviously an offer

If I get no joy with hr could I take it to the md?

What's the exact wording of the email?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Yes

Why is yes too short a reply on this site. Sometimes yes is all that is required

    Yes started new role
    No contract has been signed

Had meeting with line manager and hr. Their joint decision is that the rates I was quoted were a mistake and in effect I should forget about it

Forget about the new job and do the old one that does not require the new qualification.
