carbootcrazy, I have good news. I sent the buyer a message explaining what I have said to you and offered a partial refund of the amount I felt they had overbid. I have a had a lovely message back thanking me and accepting. Feel much better. Thanks for your support.

Managed to do a table-top sale on Saturday morning. Had prebooked it weeks ago and didn't want to let down the small charity that organised it, otherwise I might have backed out because I was totally knackered and would have really appreciated a lie-in. Glad I made the effort now as it was quite busy and I managed to clear a lot of clutter and make £47:j. so please add this £47 to my total.

    :

Well done on all the new totals everyone!

Carbootcrazy is there a list you can find table top sales or do you have to keep your eyes peeled for local notices. Also do you just pay a pitch fee to the charity and keep the sales money?

    Thanks

That's great news, mumps. Well done for communicating so clearly with the buyer that she saw reason. And well done on the success of your eBay selling. A brilliant amount of money raised:beer:

    Hi, LadyEB:hello:

I don't know of any list for these kind of sales, I just look out for announcements in the 2 local papers or on noticeboards etc.

They work just like a car boot sale except they are indoors, in village halls etc (round here anyway). Several ones I do are in the same village hall (put on by different organisers each time) as it's a good local resource, and sometimes it's organised by an animal charity, sometimes by a local windmill preservation society, sometimes by the local village church, and sometimes by the village hall fund itself. You just pay a pitch fee to the organiser when you turn up. You usually have to book a pitch as space is limited so if you see an ad for one that you fancy I advise you to get in touch as early as possible. Regulars tend to find out the full list of sale dates and book a slot for all of them at once! In most cases locally it's £5 a 'pitch', pretty much what car boot pitches are in my area, but at least it's warm, they provide the tables, and there's easy access to toilets and often to refreshments:T. . As with car boot sales, anything you make from selling is yours:j. There isn't the volume of buyers that you get at a car boot sale though, sometimes it can be dire. I did one once and made about £12 after fees for 3 hours selling:eek:

    Good Luck:beer:
