NPower failed to take Direct Debit - anyone else?
My son in law noticed that his monthly direct debit to NPower on 28th of last month (Nov) had not been taken from his bank.
In his NPower account activity it states the next direct debit will be taken on 28th Dec. No credit appears for November.
Just checked my account and have exactly the same. Mine has also not been taken and NPower seem to have skipped a month. Anyone else in same situation?
I hope this is not the start of another massive error by NPower that turns my hair even greyer.

Check that N poor have not defaulted you to a worse price rate. They did it to me but a phone call sorted it out.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

You obviously haven't been through the hell we have when we switched to them. As for ringing, I don't have a spare hour to wait while my call is answered. I have however sent an email which I may, or may not, get an answer to.0 -

Change to OVO then as I did. Cheaper and no issues, + cashback through MSE.0 -
I have had the same thing time and again not taking the money, taking incorrect amount.
Have given up.
I'm beginning to think they are that cash rich they don't want my money.
Have emailed to complain followed up by a phone call and have been informed tonight that the complaint has been closed down due to the fact I called to check they had received it??????
To say i lost the plot is an understatement.
Npower have got to be the worst company out there.
Hope you get sorted.0 -
My DD (due today) hasnt come out either but I suspect because they have lowered it they have to wait a few more days before calling it to comply with the DD rules. I'll wait a week and see what happens.

NPower are a complete shambles in my opinion, still I've gone elsewhere now and currently very happy with new supplier Flow Energy...ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 20270 -
I also have the same problem I rang them up yesterday spoke to 2 agents and was informed due to Black Friday and technical glitches your payments will be processed later than normal but rest assured will be processed in the next few days I will check again and ring them up by Friday if nothing has been taken out.
Please be aware that your credit score could be affected by this (late payments on utility) and I urge everyone to check to make sure their payments have been taken out - I know as I had the exact same problem earlier this year when switching to NPower from SSE and found out 7 months later when applying for a mortgage! thankfully after 4 conversations with 4 agents the matter was resolved.0 -
Thanks Maestro-q. Pity NPower reps on MSE haven't responded with some reassurance or NPower haven't put out a message on their website. Will be so glad when I have switched from them.0
