So when you get to a certain point, does it start to go back in time and actually make you money?! I know what you mean though - I think I'm going to come up with something similar. We've got a spreadsheet that shows everything in a big list that gets paid out each month, so if I just extend it out across the page, I should be able to just take the monthly amounts off until they're all at zero.

God, how bizarre would that be - not to owe anyone any money?!

    Ooh, quick house update:

Of the people who came in over our open weekend, we were very hopeful about the last - a really nice couple from Surrey who want to move away from the south to get more for their money. Estate agents just spoke to them and they're REALLY keen, but just want to do a bit more research into the town about schools etc, as well as sell their own.

Another couple live in the next village, and pretty much called in just to have a nosey, so we weren't too hopeful, but apparently since seeing our house they've decided to get their house on the market straight away (which is a lot smaller and should sell fast) and want to be kept informed of any updates.

So even if neither buy for any reason, at least the open weekend was definitely worth doing - both those couples only came in because of it and said they probably wouldn't have viewed otherwise!

On the downside, but only very minor, there is absolutely nothing for sale in the only village we want to live in! But don't really care - will buy a caravan and park it in work's car park if we have to until something comes up!

Savings?! Vaguely recognise the term, but not familiar with it in the context of my own finances!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (scanned back over a few pages but haven't got time to read all nine!) but have you got money set aside for the tax bill for the income for your e-bay shop?

Have you had much luck making a spread sheet? ive been looking round for a different snowball calculator but there doesnt seem to be a better on out there at the min.

Are you going to find out the sex at your scan or will you let it be a suprise? dont know what i would do. id love to tell myself i would wait to find out but im so impatient that theres no way i would, im too impatient.

hopefully your perfect house is waiting to come on the market when you have a firm offer on yours thats why there is nothing at the min.

I'm actually hoping to get a bit of a tax rebate against the PAYE I've paid out since I went back to full-time employment in Feb. The business set-up expenses were so high, and for various reasons (mainly laziness and employee sickness) we didn't do nearly half as much work as we'd wanted to - I think that so long as the accountant does his job well, we'll show a loss for last year. I'll have to pay the accountant at some stage, reckon it'll be a few hundred quid, but will worry about that when it comes around. All my overdrafts are back at zero, so while I don't want to get any more debt, rather than having savings while I have so much debt, I've paid off what we can and will borrow again if necessary off the ODs. Not done all the work for the tax return yet so don't have much of a clue how much profit/loss there'll be - that's really bugging me, and needs to be done very soon.

Can't wait to find out the sex! Need to know, as I've got all the baby stuff from DS (nearly 3) in storage and as soon as I know, I can get it all out and sort what we can re-use, sell or get rid of!

I've been too busy to do much with any spreadsheets, but updated my signature this morning and was pleased to see that the total is back below the LBM total, so don't feel so bad about that!

We've seen a house we REALLY like, but it is exactly the same price as our own, which means that we wouldn't be making the mortgage savings we'd hoped for. But it is a lovely house that we'd be comfortable in for years as opposed to something little that would just 'do' for a little while. But as neither of the 2 that want to buy ours have sold yet and so still no offers, it doesn't really matter at the moment!

Yay! Just checked my TopCashBack account, and the £90 from Lloyds TSB insurance has just tracked! Was worried that because it was such a small amount we bought, they'd decline it, but even without it, it was such a cheap price.

That means that to insure our new car fully comp for 2 drivers, after cashback, has cost us only £85 for the full year (£175 before CB). That's just silly!!! Just updated my cashback totals, and I'm up to £1,127 in virtually free money. How is that possible?!
