Factory reset issue on a Nokia Lumia 630

Hi all.
Anyone care to offer an opinion on this please? I have a problem with a Nokia Lumia 630.
After FIVE factory resets - three on the same day - data that was previously on the phone is still re-emerging, after the resets.
It went like this:
Problems started with phone so I contacted my mobile operator to get the fault fixed. Was advised to factory reset it.
Reset 1 - All data - texts, contacts, etc, all gone. Phone worked ok, but a week or two later phone still had problems and I sent it in for repair.
Reset 2 - I factory reset the phone to get rid of my personal & financial data that was on the phone, before returning it for repair. Nothing on the phone as far as I could see (texts, data, contacts, etc, all gone).
Reset 3 - phone came back from repair. *I was told the phone had the Windows software re-installed while in repair.* 7-8 days later faults started to occur again, and I was again advised (by mobile operator repair services) to reset it again. Reset it, and when checked, the texts that had existed on the phone prior to Reset 1 were now back on the phone.
Reset 4 - Again, reset the phone. Texts now gone but appointments in calendar had now resurfaced.
Reset 5 - All my personal contacts have reappeared and calender appointments are still in there, also my password & username to the app store is on too.
Clearly, the data on the phone is not being cleared off completely by the reset.
I don't back up to the cloud, or sync data, nor was there an SD card in the phone, nor were contacts stored on the micro-sim. So I've no idea why this should happen as I thought a factory reset effectively wiped everything off the phone. And if the software was wiped and re-installed - as I was told it was - where'd the data come from?
Anyone seen anything like this before please?

The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

How sure are you of that? I think WP has an auto back up feature in the settings IIRC.====0 -
Indeed, I suspect if you log into your Microsoft account on the web you will see all this info0

There's an 'on/off' option when you first get the phone, plus it's in the settings, and I'm not remotely comfortable with saving any data outside the phone's hard drive or on the SD card. So, on checking the phone, everything that I could turn off was turned off.
All the bluetooth and wifi options were also turned off.
And... the data that came back is unusual too. So for instance, the contacts data that came back is the data that I first put on the phone when I first got it. Some of the contacts were later changed, after resets 1 & 2. One new contact has appeared and one new contact hasn't.
Finally, the data appeared on the phone before wifi was switched on and before I'd signed into any MS or other accounts. It was on the phone immediately after factory reset.
I'm pretty sure that shouldn't happen should it?The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -

It appears you may be right. But that might be even worse from my point of view as I did not set it to do that. And it's got my email addresses in there too.
And I went through reset 5 with my mobile operators repair team who said there shouldn't be anything on the phone at the point where I checked it with them. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0
