NOT BUYING IT! 2015 - A consumer holiday

Unplanned spend as had to nip into co-op for cocoa for cooking for DH. That was on reduced offer as were some Dishwasher tablets which I need. Also got 12 YS items including 2 joints, cauli, broccoli, cream, pate and some fresh salmon pieces for tea. I had a £3 off £20 voucher which made prices even better. They have good YS reductions at my coop but random times so you have to be lucky.
Had a Lidl free range chicken yesterday for first time and it was good. I only buy free range poultry so we don't have chicken often. Some cold left for lunch today then I will use carcass for soup with some bottom of fridge veggies.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Another NSD today - not bought anything at all! :jI know there'll be a big shock when eventually my car is fixed (been having problems with it for nearly a fortnight and haven't had it at all this week), so I'm very glad I've not been spending. I've been shopping from my store cupboard and whipped up a batch of HM rock cakes while I'm carless (using my holiday up), so that was very popular with my DS. I'm also going to be popping two loaves of bara brith in the oven after dinner, which I've also been able to produce from store cupboard ingredients. Very satisfying.
I've now done 50 days on my 12 month "not buying clothes/shoes/accessories" challenge, which I'm really pleased with. And I haven't needed to buy any "smalls" ("bigs"?:rotfl:) either. As I've been working through my tights and discarding the holey ones, it turns out I've still got plenty. If I can abandon my inbuilt desire to match up my undies, then maybe I won't need to buy many (any?) of those for some time either. :T3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Evening All
Well a mate bought me a half pint at my CAMRA meeting tonight - does that count as NSD?????? (I know it isnt!!!)
Did go shopping - first time in 11 days but only because I need to make a birthday cake for my son's lady as it is her and my birthday Friday (yep I know that's today but I ve not been to bed yet!!
But v proud of not shopping yet!! Anyway - did not over spend so am pleased with it as came home with 2 massive bags of shopping and will not need to go again for ages!! I have been very inspired by you folks - especially Jackie and her 'happy stash' system - I literally have 2 purses - one for foodie stuff and one for entertainment!
Oatcake recipe tomorrow - promise!

Happy Birthday Lynn and to your son's young lady as well I hope you get thoroughly spoiled and made a fuss of
:):).
I have found by keeping my food purse separate from my 'happy cash stash' I feel no guilt about having a treat now and again after all life is for living and enjoying .
The best cash I spend per year is on my U3A subscription a great £15.00 well spent and I get such a lot of fun, outings meeting etc with it all.
I have two Christmas parties at the moment to go to one at our main U3A plus another at the book club. There will probably be another at history club as well as the Luncheon club 'do' Our local U3A group now has over 300 members and I could be out seven days a week if I had the staminabut I do so many other things I have to ration myself a bit
I went for my flu jab yesterday and had to make the appointment for 5.35 as it was the earliest I could get there.Today I have lunch at a friends place then history club this afternoon.
I try to keep Saturdays just for me,but tomorrow I promised I would help out at a local Christmas fete, at a local village. I really could do with a 36 hour day at times:):) but at least I don't have time to get old and grumpy
:):) just old
:):)
Right time I got some housework done , a quick whizz around with the hoover and I'm off for a nice natter and lunch with my friend
have a good day everyone what ever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -

These days I go more to our local indoor market than anywhere else. I can get food items that are not available in the supermarkets and get some exercise too from the 40 minutes walking there. Buses are too dear so I only pay for the fare going home with all the shopping. I'm still on the lookout for soil covered root veg as the market only seems to stock dirty potatoes. Better than nothing but I have now got Christmas music going round in my head from this morning which won't go away, everywhere I went was playing it.
I remembered last night about a local farm nearby to where I grew up. It sold excellent root veg and our Xmas turkey came from there. As a kid I use to cycle past all these turkeys and my goodness they were noisy things. Then of course came the day I would go past as usual and it would be all silent - just a huge pile of feathers and nothing else was all that was left. The farm sold home made corn dollies from around September till end of the year which looked pretty. I use to try and make the straw shapes myself but was hopeless at it. The doors to all the barns and front door of the farmhouse had horseshoes nailed to them and were hung upwards - I think it was for luck. Sadly, nowadays its all derelict as no-one in the family kept the farm on.
