Oh yes, Black Friday. My chap talked about that last weekend. Hideous thought - shops crammed even fuller than usual. I'd rather stay in bed!

  • I absolutely hate shopping! Especially clothes shopping, I find it really stressful. I do need to get some new bits including slippers and jeans but the thought of it is enough to put me off going to town! I hate the whole experience from trying things on in multiple sizes (as no shop is ever consistent) to the baking heat of just about every store!

Picked up a sticky toffee cake from Sainsbobs today for 10p! Still in date but it was bonfire night themed so they obviously wanted to shift the stock - fine by me :D

I am now waiting for my lovely Dad to come round (a good excuse to open the 10p cake I think!).

I used to love shopping for clothes, shoes, make up etc etc, but nowadays really can't be bothered with it :( I still go now and then with my DD, but don't get the same buzz at all:( Even with Xmas looming, I am only mildly excited about getting my Grankids' prezzies, but have no idea or inspiration for the rest of it:o
I'm honestly not being a Scrooge, but I buy stuff for the kids all the time, so Xmas is really no different for me! I still love seeing their excited little faces though, as they are still believers in Santa ;)

I'm not sure if I am cured of shopping. I did find last summer great when I wasn't shopping as there was more time to do what I really wanted. I have to do some xmas shopping however so I will have to knuckle under and get it done. I go out then if I can't see exactly what I want I get stressed and then come home fed up, the problem with that is I nearly always forget something else that was on my list and have to go out again. I am going to try again tomorrow as DD wants pyjamas and I have a birthday card and prezzie to get. I should also say that I can get sidetracked and go into shops that I didn't intend to.

Tomorrow I have set myself the target of going out and coming back with only what I set out to get and nothing else. I will not waste time.

I do have to say that I have only brought toothpaste and shampoo this year no make-up No No7 Very few clothes, ( only what was needed). I have been quite good but room for improvement.

Ironing board broke - so no Ironing It didn't collapse when I was doing the ironing thankfully, Shopping done or almost so treated myself to an afternoons baking and managed to cremate a tray of cookies.

Nifty bit of sabotage there! :)Might have to try that one myself. And because you're "not buying it", does that mean no more ironing, just smoothe and fold instead?

Durangirl great isn't it, and so liberating ,not being tied to the treadmill of trailing around the shops.I now food shop at most twice a month if I can and apart from that I stay firmly away from the shops like the plague.I find I have more time to do the things I really like doing instead

Can I ask do you use milk and if so how do you only manage to purchase milk twice a month, is it long life milk rather than fresh milk?

I am trying to go to the shops less and be more organised however milk and bread are the two things that I always have to go to the shop for.

If you don't have a freezer, just take enough money to buy you milk and bread then temptation is removed.
